Biological products for protecting plants from fungal and other diseases are especially popular among gardeners due to their natural composition. Unlike products containing chemicals, they act more slowly, but do not harm the soil or human health. The use of "Rizoplan" in garden plots and fields allows you to avoid diseases such as root rot, vascular bacteriosis and oidium.
Composition and release form of the fungicide
Biological fungicide "Rizoplan" is produced on the basis of living cells of Pseudomonas fluorescens. These soil bacteria effectively destroy the causative agents of most fungal diseases that affect crop plants. Their concentration in the fungicidal preparation is 1 billion CFU/ml.
The biological product is sold in the form of a liquid solution, which must be diluted in water before use. "Rizoplan" is packaged in plastic canisters with a volume of 5 liters. The manufacturer of the biological product is the domestic company Biopesticides LLC.
When to use and how it works
The biological product is designed for pre-sowing treatment of seed material, seedling roots before planting soil and crops throughout the growing season. Thanks to living microorganisms, the product effectively destroys pathogens of diseases such as mildew and oidium in grapes, blackleg and vascular bacteriosis in cabbage, black rot in sugar beets, septoria and root rot in grain crops, and late blight in potatoes.
The drug based on live bacteria is characterized not only by bactericidal and fungicidal effects, but also stimulates the growth of cultivated plants.
The instructions for use indicate in which cases it is advisable to use Rizoplan:
- dressing and preparation for planting seed material of grain and vegetable crops;
- processing potato tubers before planting in the ground;
- root irrigation of plants throughout the entire growing season;
- treatment of soil and greenhouse structures after harvesting;
- Irrigation of indoor ornamental plants.
After entering the tissues of a cultivated plant, the biofungicide begins to have an inhibitory effect on pathogenic microorganisms, which leads to their death.
Gardeners cited the following points as the advantages of “Rizoplan”:
- increases the yield of cereals and vegetables by 10%;
- stimulates plant immunity and resistance to adverse weather conditions;
- increases the protein content in grain up to 20% and improves its quality;
- used at any stage of crop vegetation;
- helps saturate the soil with beneficial microorganisms and restores fertility;
- does not lead to the development of resistance, so the fungicide can be used for several seasons in a row;
- used in tank mixtures with almost all chemicals, with the exception of products containing mercury;
- promotes the production of environmentally friendly vegetables.
Instructions for use of "Rizoplan"
In the instructions, the manufacturer indicated the consumption rates of the biofungicide, which must be adhered to when using the product.
The consumption of "Rizoplan" for different cultivated plants is indicated in the table:
cultivated plant | Diseases against which the drug is used | Consumption rate of biofungicide | Working solution consumption |
Sugar beet | Powdery mildew and downy mildew | 2 liters per hectare of plantings | 300 liters, processed 1-2 times throughout the growing season |
Spring barley | Root and fusarium rot, rhynchosporiasis, seed molding | From 0.5 to 1 liter | For processing crops take 20 liters per hectare, for soaking seed material before planting - 10 liters per ton |
Potato | Late blight and macrosporiosis | 1 liter | To treat a ton of tubers before planting in the ground, use 10 liters of solution |
Grape | Oidium and mildew | 4 liters per hectare of plantation | Grapes are processed up to 4 times during the growing season, using from 800 to 1000 liters of liquid per hectare |
Apple trees | Moniliosis and scab | 5 liters | 4 times treatment per season, you will need from 800 to 1000 liters of working fluid |
Cabbage | Vascular bacteriosis and blackleg | 2 liters | Treated 2-3 times during the growing season, using from 300 to 400 liters per hectare of field |
Strawberries | Gray rot | 4 liters | 2-fold treatment using 300 liters of working solution |
The biofungicide does not have a waiting period after treatment, therefore, if necessary, you can harvest a few days after applying the product.
The spraying solution should be prepared immediately before using the fungicide so that it does not lose its effectiveness. First, dissolve the amount of the drug specified in the instructions in a small amount of water (2-3 liters), then pour the mother solution into the sprayer tank, half filled with water, and turn on the mixer. After the solution has acquired a homogeneous consistency, add the remaining water and mix again.
The solution remaining after treatment must be disposed of in accordance with safety requirements. It is recommended to spray plants in clear weather, with minimal wind speed, in the morning or evening.
Precautions when working with the drug
The biofungicidal drug "Rizoplan" belongs to the 4th class of toxicity for humans, warm-blooded animals and insects. However, when working with it, you must follow simple safety rules. Use protective clothing and gloves, as well as a mask during processing.
At the end of spraying the plants, thoroughly wash all the tools, wash clothes and take a shower with soap. If drops of the solution get on the skin or mucous membranes, wash them with plenty of water.
What is compatible with?
Biofungicide "Rizoplan" can be used in tank mixtures with almost all chemicals. The only exception is drugs that contain mercury.
How and how long can you store
The drug based on live bacteria has a short shelf life - only 60 days from the production date, so when purchasing, you must carefully check the production date. Keep the biofungicide in a dark and dry utility room, at a temperature no higher than 25 degrees.
What can be replaced
You can replace Rizoplan with a drug such as Planriz Bio.
