Instructions for use of the herbicide Euroland, mechanism of action and consumption rates

To eliminate persistent weeds, special herbicides are produced for specific crops. These drugs include Euro-Land, a systemic herbicide developed for sunflower crops. When choosing this herbicide, it is important to consider that sunflower hybrids must be resistant to the action of imidazolinones so as not to harm the protected crop.

Composition and release form of the herbicide Euro-Land

The drug is produced in the form of a concentrate, soluble in water. Packaging: 5 liter canisters.

The herbicidal effect is provided by a two-component composition - imazapyr (15 grams per liter) and imazamox (33 grams per liter). Both substances belong to the class of imidazolinones.

Mechanism of action

The drug has a pronounced penetrating ability - it is absorbed by the ground part and absorbed by the root system from the ground. The herbicide demonstrates both types of effects – soil and systemic.

Once inside, Euro-Land enters all tissues through the conduction system and stops the production of amino acids. Weeds lose their ability to divide cells and their growth points are suppressed. Young shoots are most sensitive to the action of the herbicide; division processes in them stop after a few hours.

Imazapyr, remaining in the soil, also prevents the development of new weeds from seeds. The effects of the herbicide can be detected by twisted, yellowed and deformed weed tips with signs of chlorosis. Subsequently, the weed shrinks, dries out, and dies. Weeds disappear 2-8 weeks after applying the herbicide.

Spectrum of action

The drug is intended to protect sunflower hybrids, which are not affected by imidazolinone group substances.

Euro-Land is active against the main weeds of crops - cereals and dicotyledonous plants.

Pros of use

The herbicide has a number of advantages:

  • the presence of both types of penetration into weeds - absorbed by the roots and entering through the ground part;
  • effective against many types of broomrape that infest sunflowers;
  • the herbicide has a long period of activity - being in the soil, it does not allow new generations of weeds to germinate.

The drug does not have a negative effect on the sunflower itself; no traces of the herbicide are found in the fruits.

Consumption rates

The recommended application rate for different sunflower hybrids is 1-1.2 liters of Euro-Land per hectare of crops. When using water with a small amount of magnesium and calcium carbonates (soft) to dilute the herbicide, choose the lower limit of the norm - 1 liter.

The working solution is prepared in a volume of 200-300 liters per hectare, depending on the weediness of the crops and external conditions.

How to prepare a working solution?

The spray mixture is prepared in special areas away from the field. The sprayer container is filled halfway with water, and the preparation is poured in while the hydraulic mixer is running. Wait until completely mixed and add the remaining liquid (in accordance with the norm).

The solution cannot be stored; it is used completely during the day.

How to use the prepared mixture?

Basic rules for spraying Euro-Land:

  1. The most effective treatment of sunflower is at the stage of 2-4 leaves (no more than 8).
  2. Weeds should be in the initial stages of the growing season - seedlings with 2-4 leaves, young shoots that have not hardened.
  3. It is important to choose suitable weather conditions - temperature - 10-22 °.
  4. Low and high temperatures reduce the efficiency of absorption of the substance by weeds due to inhibition of metabolic processes.
  5. Spraying is carried out only by ground means.

If crops are dominated by weeds of a certain type, recommendations for spraying timing are as follows:

  • sow thistle - after the formation of a rosette;
  • cereal species - with 1-3 leaves;
  • dicotyledons - no later than 4 leaves;
  • for ambrosia - up to 2 sheets.

ready mix

The use of Euro-Land imposes restrictions on the possibility of growing subsequent crops in the fields (crop rotation). Recommended periods for using areas for different crops:

  • 4 months – rye, winter wheat;
  • 9 months – barley, spring rye and wheat, corn, legumes, soybeans, lupine;
  • 19 months – sunflower, vegetables, sorghum, rice, potatoes;
  • 26 months – rapeseed, beets.

These periods are maintained in order to rid the crops of the toxic effects of undecomposed components of active substances from the soil.

Important: regardless of the result of the treatment, re-spraying is not carried out. Euro-Land is used once per season.

Safety rules at work

All work with the herbicide (dilution, spraying) is carried out in personal protective equipment. Dispose of the solution in the prescribed manner, and wash the clothes thoroughly.

After working with the herbicide, wash with liquid products. If there are signs of poisoning, take sorbents and, if necessary, wash the stomach.

Herbicide toxicity

The drug belongs to class 3 low-hazard substances for humans and bees.

Compatibility with other drugs

The manufacturer recommends when using Euro-Land:

  1. Do not combine in the working solution with other herbicides, including anti-cereals and organophosphates.
  2. Do not make complex mixtures that include fertilizers, growth enhancers, or fertilizing agents.
  3. Before and after treatment with the drug, do not use inhibitors
  4. Apply Euro-Land no earlier than 14 days after continuous action herbicides.

Also, after spraying the product, the use of organophosphate preparations is prohibited throughout the season.

Shelf life and storage conditions

The drug is stored in special warehouses for chemicals. In unopened packaging, the product can be stored for 3 years under recommended conditions.

Analogs of the drug include the following herbicides:

  • Euro-Lightning;
  • Agro-Light;
  • Eurochance;
  • Imquant Super;
  • Captora;
  • Soteira.

Euro-Lightning Plus - contains the same active ingredients in slightly changed concentrations.

The combination of imidazolinones shows high herbicidal properties.

The drugs are popular among sunflower producers.

Instructions for use of the herbicide Euroland, mechanism of action and consumption rates

Euro-Land is a reliable and proven tool for combating weeds in sunflower crops. Its effect lasts a long time, thanks to the preservation of the substance in the soil, the drug prevents the development of a new wave of weeds and protects the crop throughout the season.
