Grenadier is a systemic herbicide that is used to control unwanted vegetation on grain crops. The drug destroys all enemies of wheat, barley, sunflower. Weeds disappear completely in just one treatment. Active substances do not accumulate in the soil, disintegrate quickly, and are not found in major cereal crops. The herbicide has selective activity and acts only on weeds.

Composition, purpose and release form of the drug Grenadier
The herbicide is used to kill weeds in cereal crops and sunflower crops. It is used against chamomile, cruciferous vegetables, dandelion, thistle, poppy, thistle and other weeds that take away nutritional components from main crops.
The active substance is tribenuron-methyl. During spraying, the drug dissolved in water penetrates into weeds and destroys them at the cellular level. The systemic herbicide has selective activity; it fights only annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds that interfere with the growth of main crops. The drug does not affect the grains themselves.
The herbicide is produced by Agrochemical Technologies (Ukraine). It has the form of water-soluble granules, packaged in plastic bottles weighing 500 grams.
Mechanism of action of the herbicide
The active substance, tribenuron-methyl, penetrates the weed through the leaves and roots. Grenadier acts on enzymes responsible for cell division. A few hours after irrigation, vegetation growth stops. After a week, signs of necrosis and chlorosis appear. The weeds die completely after 2-3 weeks. The herbicide has a short-term residual effect and is quickly destroyed in the soil, so it is recommended to use it only for post-emergence treatment.
Advantages over analogues
The herbicide Grenadier has the following advantages:
- does not accumulate in the soil;
- planting of any crops is allowed for the next season;
- has selective activity, does not harm main crops;
- affects all major types of weeds;
- compatible with various pesticides;
- can be used at temperatures from 5 degrees Celsius.
Consumption rate for different plants
When preparing the solution, adhere to the following dosage (at a flow rate of the working solution of 200-300 l/ha):
- For winter grains. Consumption of the drug is 0.020-0.025 kg/ha.
- For spring grains. Herbicide consumption - 0.015-0.020 kg/ha.
How to prepare a working solution
The herbicidal agent is dissolved in liquid before use. To prepare a working solution for spraying, use clean and soft water. If a sprayer is used to irrigate crops, then take the amount of the drug that will be needed for one tank refill.
First, a matrix solution is prepared in a bucket of water. The sprayer tank is half filled with water and the dissolved herbicide is poured in with the mixer turned on. Then add the rest of the water. If Grenadier is used with other pesticides, then first this herbicide is added to the sprayer tank, and then the other drugs are added. The mixer must be turned on when preparing the solution and during spraying.
Instructions for use of herbicide
Irrigation of weeds is carried out in early spring, at an early stage of weed growth (in the phase of 3-4 leaves). Work must be carried out in calm weather or at a wind speed of no more than 6 m/s. It is better to spray weeds immediately after rain, when they are still wet. Herbicide treatment is carried out only once per season.
Spraying can be carried out using fine dispersion sprayers. If other herbicides are added to the tank of such a sprayer for comprehensive weed control, then the dosage of all drugs must be halved. Chemicals must first be checked for compatibility.
When spraying grain crops, you need to ensure that the herbicide solution does not get on nearby vegetables.
Precautions when working with the product
The herbicide is non-toxic to humans, but you need to work with this chemical in a respirator or protective mask, rubber gloves, boots, and a protective suit. Do not inhale vapors or drink the working solution. After field work, you need to wash your hands and face with warm water and soap, and rinse your mouth with a soda solution.
The degree of toxicity of the drug
The drug Grenadier has been assigned a 3rd degree of danger. The herbicide is non-toxic to bees, but it is advisable not to use it during the active summer of these insects. It is prohibited to spray with this product in the sanitary zone near water bodies in which fish are bred. The drug quickly disintegrates in the soil, does not accumulate in the soil, and does not pollute the environment.
Compatibility with other substances
Herbicide Grenadier is allowed to be used in tank mixtures together with preparations based on 2,4-d chlorophenoxyacetic acid, dicamba or fluroxypyr. The combined use of fungicides and insecticides is allowed.
If the main crop is under stress, the use of organophosphate insecticides is not allowed.
Expiration date and storage rules
Grenadier in tightly closed original packaging can be stored at room temperature for 3 years after the date of manufacture. Do not use the herbicide after the expiration date. The grenadier must be kept in a separate warehouse specifically designed for storing pesticides.
The herbicide should be stored in a place protected from moisture and direct sunlight.The prepared solution cannot be stored for more than a day; it must be used immediately, and the remains must be poured outside the agricultural land.
Analogs
Similar preparations with a similar composition and principle of action are the following herbicides: Granstar, Agrostar, Grand Plus, Caliber, Magnum, Grand Status, Himstar. Pesticides are used to treat grain crops and control weeds without harming the main crops.
