Basis is a two-component herbicide that is used for post-emergence treatment of corn fields. The drug destroys all weeds that take away nutrients from the main crop. The basis acts selectively and systematically. The drug does not harm corn or humans; its active substances are not found in the tissues of the main crop.

This is a two-component herbicide that destroys cereal and dicotyledonous weeds in corn crops. Produced at Russian production facilities owned by the American company DuPont.
This drug contains active substances from the sulfonylurea class - rimsulfuron and thifensulfuron-methyl. The herbicidal agent has systemic and selective activity. Destroys ragweed, acorn grass, shepherd's purse, wheatgrass, thistle, sow thistle and other weeds. The drug has the form of a dry, flowing suspension. Sold in plastic jars weighing 100 grams.
How does the herbicide work?
The base is dissolved in water in the dosage specified in the instructions. The herbicide mixture is used to irrigate corn fields at the beginning of plant growth.
The drug has selective activity, so it only acts on weeds.
Active substances penetrate into weeds through leaves and roots. Distributing throughout the organs, the herbicide acts on the enzyme necessary for the synthesis of essential amino acids.
After just a couple of hours, the treated weeds stop growing and gradually begin to wither. The first signs of wilting (chlorosis, necrosis) can be noticed after 3-5 days. They die completely after 2-3 weeks.

Consumption rate of the drug

Preparation of the working product
Fine sprayers are used to irrigate a corn field. First, a matrix solution is prepared in a plastic bucket. Then fill the sprayer tank halfway with clean water. With the mixer running, add the matrix mixture. The mixer is turned off and the required amount of liquid is poured into the tank. The herbicide mixture is prepared on the day the corn field is irrigated.
How to use the ready-made solution
The solution is prepared according to the proportions specified in the instructions on the day of irrigating the corn field. The herbicide should not be used on weeds that are damp from dew or rain. It is undesirable to use the basis if the main crop (corn) is under stress due to drought, lack of nutrients, diseases, and insects. The herbicide is used on corn crops, which are grown for grain or silage, only once per season.
The night before irrigation, make sure that the thermometer readings do not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. It is not recommended to cultivate a corn field if the daytime temperature rises above 25 degrees Celsius. The herbicidal agent Basis is used when the corn has 2-5 leaves.
Weeds are vulnerable at the earliest stage of their development (in the phase of 1-4 leaves). It is always recommended to use the basis with surfactant Trend 90. This product improves the wetting of weeds with the herbicide solution.
Precautionary measures
A person preparing a herbicide solution must follow safety precautions. When working with this chemical, you need to wear a protective suit, respirator or mask, rubber boots and gloves. It is prohibited to inhale vapors or drink the solution.
After field work, you need to wash your hands and face with warm water and soap, and rinse your mouth with a soda solution.

The basis belongs to toxicity class 3. The herbicide is harmless to humans and animals. It is not recommended to cultivate the field during the summer of bees. The product is non-toxic for beneficial soil insects. In the soil, active substances disintegrate within a month. The herbicide is safer to use on acidic soil. On alkaline soil, the chemical degradation of the Basis components is difficult.
Compatibility
Herbicide Basis can be used in conjunction with other herbicides for comprehensive weed control. When using several herbicides together, the dosage is reduced. The base can be used in conjunction with fungicides and insecticides.
However, it is prohibited to use this herbicide with organophosphorus insecticidal preparations. The herbicide must not be mixed with fertilizers for foliar feeding.
Storing the product
In tightly closed original packaging, the herbicide Basis can be stored for 3 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is usually indicated on the label. A separate room must be allocated to store this pesticide. It is better to keep the drug in a warehouse protected from moisture and sunlight.
The herbicide is stored at room temperature. The prepared solution is used at a time. The herbicidal aqueous mixture should not be stored for more than one day, as the activity of the chemicals decreases over time. It is better to calculate the required amount of the drug for dilution before use. After the fields are irrigated, the unused residues are poured outside the farmland.
