It is necessary to know the rules and regulations for the use of the drug so as not to harm plants and the environment.

Composition, release form and purpose of the herbicide Salsa

The herbicide is based on etamethsulfuron-methyl, its concentration is 750 g per 1 kg of substance. The drug is able to penetrate through leaves and soil. "Salsa" is a herbicide created to control weeds in rapeseed and sunflower crops, especially in the initial phase of their development. Winter rapeseed significantly reduces yield if the seedlings are not treated against weeds. The release form of the herbicide is powder or water-soluble granules, packaged in plastic jars or bags of 100 g, 250 g, 600 g.

Mechanism of action

The main active ingredient of the drug "Salsa" has a selective nature and a high rate of penetration into weeds through leaf blades. If it rains after treatment, the herbicide can also have an effect through the soil. For an optimal effect on weeds, a temperature of at least +5 ⁰C is required. The application regulations provide for the use of the herbicide both in spring and autumn.

A week after treatment, the weeds stop growing, turn yellow, and dry out. The death of harmful plants occurs in two to three weeks. The period is influenced by weather conditions, the concentration of the applied drug and the stage of weed development.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the herbicide "Salsa" include:

• high selective properties of the drug, thanks to which the productive destruction of a wide range of weeds is possible;
• the ability of the herbicide to “work” on all varieties and types of rapeseed;
• the possibility of destroying cruciferous plants at the cotyledon stage;
• increasing the yield of rapeseed and sunflower;
• When the dosage is doubled, the drug does not have a depressing effect on the cultivated plant.

The disadvantages include:

• the ability to accumulate in plants and soil and change its composition.

Consumption rate

To treat rapeseed and sunflower, the herbicide “Salsa” is used together with the adhesive “Trend 90” (200 ml per 1 ha). The application rate of the product differs depending on the crop being treated:

• spring and winter rapeseed - 15 grams per 0.025 hectares;
• sunflower - 20 grams per 0.025 hectares.

Treatment is carried out once per season. Rapeseed is sprayed in the period between the formation of cotyledon leaves and the formation of buds, sunflower - in the phase of 2-8 leaves until the period until the cultivated plants begin to interfere with the treatment of weeds.

Liquid consumption for all crops is 250 liters per hectare.

How to properly prepare a working solution?

To prepare a working solution of the herbicide “Salsa” you will need water whose temperature is in the range from +10 to +16 ⁰С.

At lower levels, the degree of solubility of the drug decreases and the processing efficiency decreases by 30%.

Procedure:

1. Fill the sprayer tank with water to half or one third of the volume.
2. Activate blending mode.
3. Add the required amount of the drug.
4. Add water to 75% volume.
5. Add the required amount of Trend 90 surfactant to the solution.
6. Add water until full.
7. Use as directed.

When using the herbicide "Salsa" you should follow several recommendations:

• treatment is carried out once in spring or autumn;
• the working solution is prepared immediately before use;
• the optimal temperature for spraying is about 15 ⁰C;
• the best time is morning or evening in calm, windless weather;
• the procedure should be rescheduled if rain is expected;
• When carrying out work, all safety measures must be observed.

Precautions for use

Despite the low hazard class of the herbicide Salsa, precautions should be taken:

• When transporting the finished drug, ensure the tightness of the container;
• strictly adhere to consumption standards and do not exceed more than 25 grams per hectare;
• Children, pregnant women, and patients are not allowed to work with chemicals;
• check the performance of the sprayer;
• do not eat or smoke near the treated area;
• use protective clothing, shoes, glasses, and a respirator for work;
• After finishing spraying, take a shower.

Degree of herbicide toxicity

Herbicide Salsa belongs to the third hazard class, which does not allow its use in water protection zones, near sources of drinking water. There are restrictions on use:

• the processing site must be no closer than 300 m from a populated area;
• no more than 5 hectares are processed at one time;
• spraying is carried out early in the morning or late in the evening, notifying the owners of apiaries and neighbors about this;
• cancel treatment if wind speed exceeds 4 m/s.

Compatibility with other tools

The drug "Salsa" is compatible with herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and nitrogen fertilizers. Before using tank mixtures, a compatibility test must be carried out.

Terms and conditions of storage

Herbicide "Salsa" is stored in a special warehouse for pesticides in a dark place at a temperature of 15 ⁰С to 40 ⁰С. The packaging must be sealed and without damage. At home, containers with chemical preparations are placed out of the reach of children and animals. The shelf life is about 3 years from the date of manufacture.
