Fungicidal preparations help gardeners and farmers protect crop plants from a range of diseases and reap a rich harvest in any weather. There are chemicals on sale with one active ingredient, and there are also two-component products. The latter are more effective in combating pathogens, as they affect microorganisms from different sides. Cymoxanil has many advantages, which is why farmers often choose it for use in their fields.
Composition and release form of the product
A two-component fungicide, which has a powerful stop effect and protects crops for a long time, was developed by scientists for use in fields sown with sunflower and soybeans. The first active component in its composition is cymoxanil at a concentration of 300 grams per 1 kg of the drug. The second active ingredient is flutriafol; in a kilogram of the chemical its content is 210 grams.
The fungicide is marketed in the form of a wettable powder, from which a working solution is prepared. It is packaged in plastic jars of 1 and 2.5 kg. The manufacturer of the chemical is the domestic company Agrochemical Technologies.
Operating principle and area of use
The mechanism of action of the fungicidal drug "Cymoxanil" is based on the influence of two active components on pathogens. The substance of the same name has a local-systemic effect and penetrates through the leaf blades of crops. Its influence leads to the suppression of sporulation of fungi that cause plant diseases; this is achieved by inhibiting RNA biosynthesis in pathogen cells.
The second active component, flutriafol, disrupts the formation of the microorganism’s cell membrane and stops the development of mycelial hyphae. This is achieved by blocking the demethylation process of styrene biosynthesis. This substance is characterized by the highest degree of systemic influence among all triazoles and guarantees long-term protection of all parts of the cultivated plant from the effects of pathogenic microorganisms that cause the development of fungal diseases.
The fungicidal drug "Cymoxanil" was developed to protect sunflower and soybean crops from pathogens of fungal diseases. It is effective against such pathologies as sunflower downy mildew, soybean septoria, phomosis and sclerotinia.
Farmers who tested the performance of the chemical in their fields identified several advantages of the drug that set it apart from other fungicides with similar effects.
The advantages of Cymoxanil include the following:
- therapeutic and preventive effect due to the two substances included in the composition with different mechanisms of influence;
- effectiveness in destroying fungi belonging to different classes;
- long-lasting protective effect after treatment, provided instructions and dosage are followed;
- possibility of application at any stage of the growing season of cultivated plants;
- maintaining the working qualities of the drug even when used at low temperatures;
- no risk of developing resistance when used for several seasons in a row due to the different effects of the active components and no phytotoxicity if the dosage is observed.
Instructions for use of the fungicide "Cymoxanil"
In order for the fungicidal drug to demonstrate its performance, it is necessary to follow the instructions for use and the chemical consumption rates recommended by the manufacturer. The main criterion for the effectiveness of Cymoxanil is the uniform coverage of cultivated plants with the working solution. In combination with a fungicide, it is necessary to use “AgpoPAB” (0.1% solution) or “AgpoPAB Extra” (0.05-0.1% solution), only in this case will it be possible to achieve the goal and completely destroy pathogens .
The consumption rates of the fungicidal drug are presented in the table:
cultivated plant | Chemical consumption | Amount of working fluid per hectare of field |
Soybeans | 500 ml | From 200 to 300 liters |
Sunflower | 500 ml | From 200 to 300 liters |
The working solution is prepared immediately before processing so that it does not lose its qualities. Pour half the volume of water into the sprayer tank and add powder. Turn on the stirrer and wait until the product is completely dissolved. After this, add the remaining water and add the adhesive, mix again until smooth.
The working fluid remaining after processing the plants is disposed of in accordance with safety regulations - the chemical must not be poured onto the ground or into water bodies.
Safety precautions when working with the drug
When working with chemicals, adhere to safety rules. The entire body should be covered with clothing to prevent the fungicide from coming into contact with the skin. Use rubber gloves and boots, as well as a respirator, to prevent chemical vapors from irritating the respiratory tract.
After processing the plants, clothes are washed and hung in fresh air to air. The farmer must wash with soap and take a shower. If the working fluid accidentally gets on the mucous membranes, wash them with plenty of water, and if irritation occurs, contact a medical facility.
What is compatible with?
The fungicidal drug "Cymoxanil" is allowed to be used in tank mixtures with other chemical protection agents, but first it is necessary to conduct a test by taking a small amount of each substance.
How to store it correctly
The fungicide must be stored in a separate utility room, away from children and pets, at an air temperature of no higher than 35 degrees.
Analogs
If necessary, you can replace Cymoxanil with a drug such as Impact.
