The use of herbicides helps clear crops of weeds and carry out chemical weeding. Zlakterr is a selective herbicide, its sphere of activity allows you to eliminate cereal weeds in crops of sugar beets and some types of vegetables without causing damage to crops, free fields from weeds, reduce labor costs and significantly increase yield.

Composition, release form and purpose of the drug Zlakterr
The active ingredient in the drug is clethodim. Its content is 240 grams per liter. Cletodim is classified as a systemic drug - after absorption, the substance spreads throughout all tissues of the weed and destroys the plant from the inside..
Zlakterr is bottled in 5-liter plastic canisters and is a concentrated emulsion.
The drug was created to eliminate weeds from crops of large-leaf plants. Used on the following crops:
- potato;
- soy;
- cotton;
- sugar beet;
- onion;
- carrot;
- linen;
- beet.
With Zlakterra you can also remove weeds around trees and grapes.
Mechanism of action of the herbicide
The herbicide is used during the growth and development of weeds. Zlakterr applied to the leaves and stems when sprayed is absorbed from the surface and passes into the internal conducting system of weeds.
Cletodim inhibits the synthesis of fats in the cellular structures of weeds. Due to this, the process of cellular structure stops. The foliage acquires signs of chlorosis - it becomes spotted.
The growth points lose their viability in 1-7 days, then the root part dies. The plant dies within 1-3 weeks.
Zlakterr's areas of activity:
- creeping wheatgrass;
- humai;
- wild oats;
- millet of different types;
- pig;
- self-growing crops of corn and cultivated cereals;
- crabgrass
Fields are treated with zlakterr after germination. It successfully eliminates perennial and annual weeds.
Positive and negative sides
When used at recommended rates, the drug demonstrates the following advantages:
- high selectivity - crops remain undamaged, only weeds die;
- destroys weeds completely - after the ground part, the roots also die, which does not allow the plants to recover;
- Zlakterr acts at all stages of the growing season and with any density of clogging;
- remains active in a wide range of climatic and weather conditions, for different soils;
- a large circle of activity - annual and perennial weeds.
When using Zlakterra, you need to be careful, since the herbicide also has negative sides:
- if the dosage is exceeded, it can harm the protected crops;
- has toxicity – moderately dangerous for humans, animals, soil;
- undecomposed components remain in the soil and end up in fruits, which deteriorates their quality and reduces their benefits.
Herbicide residues in the fields affect the composition and fertility of the soil and can negatively affect acidity and other characteristics.
Working fluid consumption rates
The drug is used in the following doses:
Culture | Weed | Amount of prepared solution in liters per hectare | Zlakterra volume in liters per hectare | Validity |
Any of the list of processed | Young (2-6 leaves), annual | 200-300 | 0.2-0.4 | 2 months
One-time processing |
Perennial or having a height of more than 20 centimeters | 200-300 | 0.7-1 |
Lower dosage values of the drug are chosen when the fields are slightly weeded and in the early stages of the growing season. Maximum quantities are needed to control long-standing weeds that cover crop plants.
Preparation of working solution
The solution for spraying is prepared immediately in the tank. The container is filled halfway with water, and the required volume of herbicide is introduced. When pouring, stir constantly (hydraulic stirrer is running) to achieve complete connection. Then pour in the rest of the water combined with the adjuvant (surfactant ETD-90, F).
Information: the surfactant enhances the effect of Zlakterra, promotes better penetration into the tissue structures of weeds.
The solution is prepared on special sites, which prevents the herbicide from spilling on the ground and soaking the soil in the fields.
Instructions for use of herbicide
The optimal conditions for spraying the working solution are considered to be 8-25 °. It is recommended to spray the fields in the morning. If the weeds are still at an early stage (2-3 leaves), choose the minimum dosage. Supplementing the solution with an adjuvant will ensure better absorption of clethodim and increase the efficiency of treatment.
If there is a high density of weed vegetation (from 300 plants per square meter), there is no need to take risks - choose the maximum permissible concentrations of Zlakterra. High doses are also required for perennial weeds and in cases where crop plants are hidden under weedy grasses.
If the solution remains, it is disposed of in specially designated areas. The prepared mixture cannot be stored.
Precautionary measures
How to work with Zlakterr correctly so as not to harm people, soil, or crops:
- prepare a solution, spray the herbicide while wearing personal protective equipment;
- the remaining solution is destroyed;
- It is allowed to enter the fields for work 3 days after treatment.
The herbicide is not used on private farms or at dachas. Spraying by agricultural aircraft is prohibited.
Phytotoxicity of the drug
Zlakterr does not have a toxic effect on crops if the recommended dosages are observed.
Is it compatible with other pesticides?
The drug is not used with the pesticide Bentazone. It is also not recommended to combine Zlakterr with fertilizers.For sugar beets, mixtures with herbicides from other groups and areas of activity - Docent, Triumph, Lonner Euro - have proven themselves well.
If there is a need to prepare tank mixtures, the components are mixed in small quantities before use and tested for toxicity.
Terms and conditions of storage
Storage conditions – storage rooms for toxic substances, temperature – from -5° to 35°. The manufacturer stated a shelf life of 2 years if the packaging is intact.
Analogs
A large group of herbicides that are analogues are produced with clethodim as an active substance:
- Beryl - 120 grams per liter;
- Rondo, Legat, Zlakoff, Centurion, Ephesus - 240 grams per liter (exact analogue);
- Graminion - 150 grams per liter.
All products (including Zlakterr) have been tested for compliance with ISO standards and are approved for use in industrial agriculture.
The use of Zlakterr protects crops of many crops from the spread of cereal weeds. It is difficult to obtain large yields without the use of herbicides. In order not to reduce the quality of the resulting fruits, you need to apply herbicides at the recommended time and in strict accordance with the instructions.
