Pre-planting treatment of seed material is considered an important agrotechnical stage, ensuring the formation of reliable protection of future seedlings from common infections already at the preparation stage. Seed protectant "Alpha" is a combined fungicidal agent. The drug is widely used in agriculture when growing a number of grains and oilseeds for the treatment and prevention of plant mycoses.
Composition and release form of seed protectant
The composition of the drug "Alpha" is represented by an effective combination of active ingredients - imazalil and tebuconazole in quantities of 100 grams and 60 grams, respectively, per 1 liter of the total volume of the mixture.
The Alpha disinfectant is available in the form of a flowable suspension concentrate, packaged in five-liter plastic canisters with screw caps.
Mechanism of action of "Alpha"
The two-level mechanism of action of the drug is due to the effects of the active substances included in the composition. Imazalil blocks the assembly of sterols in the cell membrane of pathogenic fungi and provokes the destruction of membrane structures. Tebuconazole – systemic fungicide, which has healing and protective properties. It has a specific effect on rust pathogens and is active against rot, mold, and smut. The compound works at the membrane-cellular level, suppressing the formation of ergosterol in the membrane of fungal cells.
Fungicide-protectant "Alpha" is effective against the following diseases of agricultural crops:
- rust;
- various types of smut;
- basal, root, seed rots;
- powdery mildew;
- mold;
- fusarium;
- Alternaria blight;
- ascochyta;
- helminthosporiosis;
- peronosporosis;
- net spot.
The combination of active ingredients in the Alpha disinfectant allows the drug to be used to eradicate pathogens and create antifungal protection after seed germination without developing resistance to the composition.
The fungicide is used to treat seeds:
- rye;
- wheat;
- barley;
- corn;
- sunflower;
- rapeseed;
- soy.
"Alpha" accelerates seed germination, stimulates the physiological development of seedlings, improves the quality and quantity of the harvest.
How to use the product correctly
Seed treatment with Alpha fungicide is carried out 1-2 weeks before planting.The etching process is carried out using a semi-wet mechanical method. To soak the material, it is necessary to prepare a working solution, which is an aqueous dilution of the concentrate. The standard dose of the drug is 0.4 liters per 1 ton of seeds.
To prepare the working fluid, you need to dissolve the calculated dose of Alpha concentrate in half the total volume of water and mix thoroughly. Before measuring the suspension, the canister with the drug is shaken, ensuring an even distribution of the mixture particles.
The remaining half of the water is poured into the tank of the pickling machine and the prepared primary dilution is added with constant stirring. The emptied container is rinsed with a solution, which is poured into the pickling tank. The working fluid is used for its intended purpose immediately after preparing the dilution.
Safety precautions for use
Work with the drug is carried out in accordance with the rules for handling substances that pose a danger to human health.
Techniques for safe work with the drug "Alpha" include:
- restricting access to the work area for third parties and animals;
- use of a protective suit that prevents direct contact of the product with open areas of the body;
- use of personal protective equipment (respirator, rubber gloves, goggles or protective screen);
- carrying out work mechanized using pickling machines;
- disposal of used containers and waste solution in accordance with the requirements applicable to the destruction of chemically hazardous substances.
During work, it is prohibited to eat, drink, or smoke. If signs of poisoning occur, it is necessary to remove the victim from work, take him out into fresh air and give him enterosorbent (1 gram of activated carbon per 10 kilograms of body weight) with plenty of drinking water. If you feel worse, you should immediately seek medical help.
Shelf life and storage conditions
The container with the concentrate should be stored out of the reach of children and animals, away from food, household items and veterinary feed. Do not place a canister of fungicide near heating appliances or in areas exposed to direct sunlight.
Best before date
At least 3 years while maintaining the integrity of the original packaging and observing storage conditions
