This insecticide has contact and systemic effects. The product formula contains 2 active substances: thiacloprid in the amount of 100 g per 1 liter and deltamethrin in the amount of 10 g per 1 liter. The preparative form in which the pesticide is produced is an oil dispersion. The liquid is poured into 5 liter plastic canisters.
What is the drug used for and how does it work?
“Proteus” is intended for treating wheat, barley, rapeseed, peas, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, table and sugar beets against a number of common pests.
The active substance thiacloprid exhibits translaminar activity. It interacts with the receptors of the nerve fibers of the pests, disrupting the transmission of impulses along the nerve fibers. Deltamethrin also affects the central nervous system of insects, blocks sodium channels and disrupts the permeability of cell membranes. The death of insects begins a few hours after treatment.

Solution consumption rate and instructions for use
For corn and beets, the application rate of “Proteus” is 0.5-1 liters per hectare, for other crops – 0.5-0.75 liters per hectare.Spraying is carried out on seedlings of wheat, rapeseed, carrots and beets, for other crops - throughout the growing season. Liquid consumption is different: for wheat, rapeseed and carrots - 100-200 l per ha, for beets - 200-300 l per ha and for other plants - 200-400 l per ha. Processing of peas and tomatoes is carried out once, for other crops – 2 times. The waiting period for carrots and beets is 60 days, for all others – 20 days.
You can work on sprayed beds or fields 3 days after treatment.
Precautions for use
"Proteus" is slightly toxic to people. Spraying should be done in clothing, eye and hand protection and a respirator. If the solution gets on your skin, wash it off with water. Avoid contact of the solution with mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse with water. During treatment with an insecticidal agent, do not drink, eat or smoke.
The drug "Proteus" should not be used near reservoirs and springs, rinse off the remaining solution into water and rinse working containers. The active compounds of the product are toxic to fish and bees.
There are no restrictions on crop rotation for Proteus. Use on private farms is prohibited; It is prohibited to spray from an airplane. How to store it correctly?
The product is stored for 4 years in factory canisters with closed lids. Storage conditions: dark, dry and cool. Agricultural preparations and fertilizers can be stored in the same warehouse with an insecticide; food, feed, medicines and household products cannot be stored.
During long-term storage, the liquid may separate and no sediment will form. The properties are preserved, but before preparing the solution in this case, you must first shake the liquid. When spraying, oil drops with the active substance will be distributed evenly in the solution. After the expiration of the storage period, the insecticidal product must be disposed of. The solution must be used within 1 day, after which it gradually loses its effectiveness.
What can be replaced?
For thiacloprid, “Proteus” has analogues: “Aspid”, “Biskaya”, “Calypso”, “Pondus” and “Thea”. For deltamethrin – “Atom”, “Decis Profi”, “Decis Expert", "K-Obiol". These preparations are suitable for treating plants in agriculture. In private household plots you can use Decis Profi and FAS products.
