cucumbers on a branch

The Artist F1 cucumber variety has the following significant advantages over its competitors:

  • increased resistance to major diseases;
  • very early harvest ripening;
  • high productivity;
  • excellent taste;
  • universal use;
  • the ability to grow both indoors and outdoors (including on a balcony, window sill, greenhouse).

Growing

Planting Artist cucumbers is done in two ways. With the first method, seedlings are grown in advance and then planted in the ground. In the second, the seeds are sown directly into the garden bed. With the seedling method, sowing should begin in April. This is done in peat pots or in special cassettes for growing seedlings. The soil is prepared from the following components:

  • peat (2 parts);
  • humus (2 parts);
  • sawdust (1 part);
  • wood ash (40 g per 10 liters).

The resulting mixture is filled into containers, and a pair of seeds of these varieties is placed in each. Further care consists of timely watering, which is done as the soil dries out.

The characteristic suggests that cucumbers are heat-loving plants and do not react well to temperature changes. It is necessary to sow in open ground no earlier than the moment when the ground warms up to +15 °C. As a rule, during this period the threat of night frosts has finally passed, and the daytime temperature is set at +22 °C. The seeds are buried a couple of centimeters, and the distance between them is left about 10 centimeters. Initially, it is recommended to cover the bed with agrofibre. The first shoots may appear within a week.

Features of care

After the second leaf appears, the cucumbers will need to be thinned.For every 15 centimeters, only one strongest seedling is left. In order for the root system to develop better, you need to periodically loosen the soil and hill up.

This procedure will help prevent water from getting onto the plant stems. It is this factor that contributes to the development of major cucumber diseases.

Watering is carried out as the top layer of soil dries. Cucumber Artist F1 with insufficient moisture reduces the ovary, the yield decreases. Deformed cucumbers with bitterish flesh may appear. It doesn't hurt to periodically apply organic fertilizers to help maintain the balance of nutrients in the soil.

cucumber care

The proximity of other crops in the beds also plays an important role in growing cucumbers. It is better to plant cucumbers nearby with the following crops:

  • eggplant;
  • garlic;
  • beans;
  • cabbage;
  • salad;
  • beets, etc.

Tomatoes, radishes and radishes are highly controversial on this issue.

The Artist F1 cucumber, the description and reviews of which tempt you to plant it on your plot, already has its fans. Summer residents not only grow this hybrid themselves for several years, but also recommend it to their acquaintances and friends. Caring for the plant is the same as for other varieties, but you can get a larger harvest, and even with better characteristics. Most gardeners even sell the surplus harvested crops, receiving income from it.
