  • high-yielding;
  • attractive in appearance;
  • universal in purpose;
  • grown both in open ground and under film;
  • pollinates on its own.

The commercial arsenal of fruits is about 15 kilos of cucumbers per square meter of area.

tastes amazing

The characteristics of the Berendey variety do not say anything that it has any disadvantages. Well, except that it is one of the hybrid ones. But this can hardly be seriously considered as a big drawback for the cucumber...

Landing Features

Planting Berendey cucumbers is carried out in two ways - direct sowing and in a greenhouse.

universal in purpose

Cucumbers are planted in the beds on the tenth day of May. What are the benefits of direct seeding? It significantly reduces the cost of time and energy for cultivation, because in this situation the seedling stage of development is skipped. The seeds of the variety are characterized by:

  • one-dimensionality;
  • fast germination;
  • efficiency of germination.

Before planting, the seeds are disinfected with ready-made chemicals “Tiram” or “Benomin”. It would also be a good idea to soak the seed in a solution of microelements for 12 hours the day before planting. Cucumber planting pattern: 50 by 50 centimeters, depth: one and a half to two centimeters.

self-pollinates

First, Berendey's crops are covered with film to protect them from sudden night frosts, and then harvested when the first shoots appear. When there is an abundance of sprouted greenery, the seedlings are thinned out.

To obtain a guaranteed high yield, cucumbers are planted as seedlings in the last ten days of April. You can get healthy cucumber seedlings both at home - on the windowsill, and in the greenhouse:

fast germination

  • Dry seeds that have undergone pre-treatment are suitable for sowing;
  • the seed is placed in a mixture of two parts of soil from the garden, one part of peat and one part of sand;
  • Berendey seeds are immersed to a depth of one and a half centimeters;
  • boxes with seedlings are covered with film and left in a warm place;
  • after emergence of shoots, the film is removed;
  • unfolding of the cotyledons indicates that the seedlings need to be moved to a place where the temperature is + 18 instead of + 25.

This is how Berendey cucumber seedlings are grown.

dry seeds

Seedlings need to be watered regularly and complex mineral fertilizer applied to the soil once. During the week of transferring the seedlings to “freedom”, experts advise lowering the temperature even further, to + 16 - to harden the crop. When the earth warms up to 18 degrees under the sun, you can start moving the seedlings to the beds in the greenhouse. Plants are planted at a distance of one and a half meters from each other. After planting, abundant watering is carried out.

Due to its unpretentiousness and the possibility of growing Berendey in shaded areas, it is possible to cultivate the variety on a windowsill, balcony or loggia. However, there is no need to abuse this. A place that is too dark may not have the best effect on the shape of future cucumbers: they grow crooked, with small tubercles. In addition, they will have a pale light green color. If the balcony is on the south side, then you should definitely consider shading for the plants.

pre-treatment

If the proposed conditions are met, you can collect up to 10 kilos of cucumbers from each bush per season.

Features of cultivation

Caring for a hybrid is quite traditional:

  • you need to water with warm water, preferably at sunset (in a greenhouse, the frequency of watering depends on the temperature inside and outside and the level of light);
  • It is necessary to loosen the soil weekly;
  • When growing cucumbers in ordinary beds, there is no need to shape the plants, but in a greenhouse it is necessary to use trellises.

To increase yield, the lower lateral shoots are pinched above the second (third) leaf. It is important to carefully inspect your cucumbers daily to prevent them from becoming sick beyond repair.
