Honey is a unique product containing many vitamins, minerals and other beneficial substances. Unfortunately, fresh nectar quickly becomes sugary and hardens. At the beginning of the last century, Canadian beekeepers developed a technology for transforming beekeeping products into an airy, aromatic cream that is tasty and easy to use. Is it possible to make a delicacy from whipped honey at home? Let’s find out further.
Appearance and properties of the product
On market shelves and in stores, jars with whitish, airy nectar are increasingly being found, which beekeepers pass off as real bee honey.And this is true, because after a long period of whipping, the sweetness is more like a cream than a common beekeeping product.
Candied nectar creates inconvenience when consuming it. A solid, crystallized product is difficult to remove from the container in which it is stored. You have to heat the jar in a water bath to dissolve the honey. During heat treatment, the natural gift loses some of the nutrients and nutrients necessary to maintain the health of the body.
When asked why healing nectar is whipped into a cream, the answer is simple. In this form, the sweetness does not thicken or crystallize, and the composition of the sweetness remains the same, like a fresh bee gift.
During the process of prolonged kneading, the sugared particles in the delicacy are completely destroyed and acquire a thick, fluffy consistency. The color of the honey also changes, becoming creamy or whitish.
What properties does the whipped treat acquire:
- does not become sugary during long-term storage;
- fluffy, creamy consistency, the product does not spread, crystals do not settle to the bottom of the container and do not form a solid mass on the surface;
- when whipped, the delicacy is saturated with oxygen, which increases its taste characteristics;
- the most accessible and cheap varieties of honey acquire a delicate taste and aroma.
Whipped honey tastes like high-quality condensed milk, but it still has a specific, floral aroma. This delicacy is used for fresh consumption, added to sauces, marinades, desserts, baked goods, and simply spread on bread.
The benefits and harms of whipped honey
To achieve a creamy consistency, honey is subjected to mechanical action. During the processing process, the usual yellow or amber color of the sweet becomes creamy.
If the technology for producing whipped nectar is followed according to all the rules, the product does not lose its beneficial and nutritional properties:
- helps strengthen the body's protective functions;
- increases resistance to colds and viral infections;
- has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects;
- improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system and digestive organs;
- cleanses the body of harmful and toxic accumulations;
- normalizes hormonal balance;
- increases resistance to physical and mental stress;
- has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, helps in the fight against insomnia and depression.
The composition of the healing sweetness includes substances that reduce the risk of developing malignant and benign neoplasms.
In some cases, foamed nectar can harm the body. We must not forget that beekeeping products contain a large number of allergens. Do not consume the treat if you have an individual intolerance to some of the ingredients included in its structure. Sweets are consumed with great caution in case of diabetes mellitus, chronic diseases of the digestive organs, kidneys, pancreas and liver.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, bee cream is introduced into the diet in small portions. At the first manifestation of an allergic reaction, refuse the treat.
Important! Honey in its composition is a complex product, and in its fresh form it is difficult to perceive by the human body.Therefore, bee nectar is not recommended for children under 3 years of age to be included in their daily diet.
How to cook it?
Honey cream, made in industrial production conditions, goes through several stages of preparation, and only then is subjected to mechanical stress.
It is possible to prepare an unusual delicacy at home, but such a product will differ from the purchased product in terms of shorter shelf life, appearance and taste.
To make bee whipped cream, you will need a high-quality variety of nectar. Acacia, sweet clover or linden varieties of sweets are best suited. For whipping you will need liquid nectar in the amount of 900 g and the candied product in the amount of 100 g.
