The popular lady finger tomatoes come in several varieties. Under this name you can find the following tomatoes:

Pear-shaped
Tomatoes from the famous breeder Lyubov Anatolyevna Myazina have a pear shape. A state patent was issued for this variety in 2005, and in 2006 the species was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements.You can purchase the Myazinsky version in original packaging; other seed companies also sell the variety, for example, St. Petersburg “Biotechnika”, Altai “Demetra”.
Description of the variety:
- The bush is determinate, slightly taller than half a meter. Feels good in open ground. You don't even have to create it. In the greenhouse, the stems grow twice as long - here it is recommended to grow each plant into two trunks, removing the stepsons. The tassels are knitted through one or two sheets, carrying 7–8 ovaries.
- Tomatoes grow up to 10 cm in length and weigh 50–70 grams. They are oval, with a slight widening at the bottom (they look like small pears). The skin of the fruit is tight, smooth, shiny, bright scarlet. There is little liquid and seeds inside. The highest pulp density, excellent taste and aroma are especially noted.
- The early ripening period is 100 days. In the North-Western region, in some areas of Siberia, the variety can manifest itself as mid-early (115 days).
- The yield with minimal care is 2.5 kg per square meter. If cultivation is carried out according to all the rules, such a harvest can be obtained from each bush.
- The tolerance of tomatoes to temperature changes, dry soil, and cold snaps is very high. Thanks to its dense skin and rapid ripening, the variety rarely suffers from late blight.
L.A. Myazina offers the orange Lady's Fingers variety. This tomato has similar characteristics, only the ripe fruits are orange in color and have a specific spicy hue in taste and aroma.

Small-fruited (Syzran)
The characteristics and description of the variety from the Volga region have their own characteristics. The city of Syzran, Samara region, is famous for its tomatoes. Syzran Ladyfingers have a specific description and are very different from others. Indeterminate bushes grow up to one and a half to two meters. It is more convenient to grow them in greenhouses. Removal of side shoots (stepchildren) is a must. The plant grows in two stems.
Those who planted the Syzran variety call its oval tomatoes “sweets” or “grapes.” They are slightly larger than Cherry tomatoes, the so-called “cocktail” type - 3 - 4 cm in length, weighing 30 - 40 grams. The color is dark red. Rave reviews from gardeners are due to their truly sweet taste, generous yield from each bush. The yield is indeed very high, because the clusters are incredibly prolific: they bear three dozen ovaries.
These tomatoes are a real help when pickling and pickling vegetables. They are convenient to use as seals in the voids and tops of cans. In brine, tomatoes do not burst or become soggy. Ideal for decorating salads and other appetizers. They can also be dried (dried) whole - the tomatoes will resemble raisins.

Tomatoes of the Lady's Finger variety produce excellent yields (even without pinching and tillage before planting) in the difficult climatic conditions of the Urals, Siberia, the Middle Zone, and the North-West. Yes, the fruits are not too large (average weight 60 grams), but each cluster pulls out 300 - 400 grams, and a lot of clusters are tied. Two kilograms of tomatoes from a bush is far from the limit. To obtain an earlier harvest, seedlings are first planted under temporary shelters.
When the threat of frost has passed, the film or covering material is removed. Vegetables grown outdoors are healthier and tastier than greenhouse vegetables.
