The modern antifungal agent “Quadris” from the manufacturer “Syngenta” has established itself as an effective drug with low toxicity and long-lasting action. The instructions for using the fungicide "Quadris" for the treatment of grapes recommend use for diseases of true and downy mildew.
Description and mechanism of action
The drug "Quadris" is sold in the form of a suspension concentrate, packaged in containers of 60 ml, 100 ml, 300 ml, 1 l, 5 l. The main active ingredient azoxystrobin is contained in an amount of 250 g/l.The fungicide belongs to the chemical class of strobilurins, as it is an analogue of the natural metabolites of the fungi Strobilurins Oudemansins.
In nature, this fungus lives on the cones of coniferous plants and is able to stop the growth of competing yeast-like and mold fungi around it. This is possible due to its ability to interfere with cellular respiration. Fungal cells stop receiving energy, their growth is disrupted, and sporulation stops; most species die or stop spreading.
In its action, “Quadris” is both systemic and contact. It demonstrates a long-lasting protective effect and the widest spectrum of action among all known fungicides.
Important. To avoid the development of resistance, it is necessary to alternate use "Quadrisa» with fungicides of a different principle of action.
Instructions for use
The active ingredient of Quadrisa, azoxystrobin, is insoluble in water, which must be taken into account when working with a suspension. You can store the opened container and working fluid for 24 hours.
The working fluid, diluted in the recommended proportion for grapes, 5 ml per 10 liters of water, must be stirred frequently during processing. In agricultural production, specially equipped sprayers with mixers are used.
At home:
- 5 ml of suspension is poured into 1 liter of water, the tightly closed spray tank must be shaken vigorously for 5-10 minutes.
- Then add the remaining water in a thin stream and repeat shaking.
- During operation, shaking is repeated every 30 minutes.
- The sprayer is set to the finest spray in the form of dust.
- Consumption rate: each sheet is moistened without dripping onto the ground.
- After treatment, the tank is washed 3-4 times, shaking vigorously each time.The water is drained into the sewer.
Grape processing is carried out in dry, windless weather in the morning or evening hours.

- Do not spray grapes during flowering.
- Do not allow drops of working fluid to fall on the ground. The fungicide is insoluble and does not decompose in water; if it gets into groundwater, it can harm animals in nearby bodies of water.
- Quadris should not be used near bodies of water (within a radius of 2 km).
- Processing of plants must be carried out in a special protective suit and gas mask.
- For some types of plants, in particular apple trees, even residual microdoses of Quadris can cause the death of the crop and the entire plant. Therefore, you cannot use the sprayer after Quadris to treat fruit crops.
- Do not allow the working fluid to come into contact with other crops when spraying. This is especially dangerous in windy weather.
- The preparation of the liquid must be carried out in a special room, inaccessible to other people.
- Work with plants can be continued 3 days after treatment.
Processing times
The drug is suitable for prophylactic use and in the early stages of the disease. Because, first of all, it stops the growth of fungi and spore formation, and does not lead to complete destruction. The validity period of “Quadris” on grapes is about three weeks. The waiting time for the drug to take effect is 2-3 days.
The right time to process grapes is:
- before flowering;
- after flowering;
- time of immature ovaries;
- a week before harvest.
Processing the bushes shortly before harvesting increases its shelf life. Repeated treatment can be carried out no earlier than after 3 weeks. In one season, it is advisable not to carry out more than two treatments with Quadris, but to alternate with other fungicides.
