Semeron herbicide is usually available in the form of water-soluble powders or an emulsion suspension. May also be sold as a concentrated solution. This substance contains desmethrin.

The chemical is used to kill most weeds that grow in cabbage beds. But it can also be used for other agricultural plants. Suitable for controlling both annual and perennial weeds.

Mechanism of action of weed killer

After the beds have been treated with the chemical, the active substance begins to penetrate the plant tissue through the root system and foliage. The chemical spreads throughout the plant gradually. After which the weeds begin to wither and gradually die. The visible effect is achieved a few days after spraying (provided that it did not rain after the procedure).

The working solution is prepared based on the ratio of 1.5-2 kg of substance per 1 ha. The most optimal consumption of the suspension when spraying beds is from 400 to 600 liters per 1 hectare of land. For one sq. m will require 0.4 liters.

According to the instructions, it is recommended to spray in the morning (from 7 to 10 am) or in the evening, after sunset.

The optimal air temperature at which the herbicide will be effective is from +18 to +25 degrees. It is best if the weather is warm and calm. Do not spray plants if there is dew on them. It is also prohibited to use the herbicide if the cabbage is damaged by cabbage fly at the time of spraying. It is not recommended to spray the beds in very hot and rainy weather. If it is not possible to carry out the procedure at another time, after waiting out the heat, then you need to water the beds abundantly every day a few days in advance.

The drug is most effective at the early stage of weed growth. To prevent their appearance, seedlings are sprayed after 1-2 weeks of planting in open ground. Seed crops are sprayed after 4-6 full leaves appear on the seedlings.

The herbicide is slightly toxic to humans, mammals and honey insects. The active substance of the herbicide does not accumulate in agricultural crops. Approximately 6 weeks after the last spraying, the substance is completely removed from the plants.

Not recommended for use near open water. This can lead to water pollution and death of fish and other animals. After treatment, you should not touch the plants with your hands, much less cut the cabbage for consumption.

After the procedure, at least 6 weeks must pass before the cabbage is edible.

Compatibility with other tools

There is no information about compatibility with other weed killers, so it is best not to use Semeron herbicide with other chemicals. It is unknown what the combined use of several herbicides can lead to. If it is necessary to use several herbicides at the same time, it is better to leave several weeks between treatments. The longer the break, the better.

How to properly store herbicide

It is recommended to store the chemical in a dark, cool room away from pets and small children.You should also not keep food nearby. The optimal storage temperature is from +5 to +35 degrees. It is not advisable for the product to be exposed to sunlight. The shelf life is no more than 3 years. If after spraying there is a ready-made solution left, it cannot be stored. It will have to be thrown out.
