The continuous action herbicidal agent “Rap” is used in agriculture. Used to combat various types of weeds: annual, perennial, cereal and dicotyledonous. The product has instructions for use, which should be read by those who plan to use it. It is also required to observe safety precautions when working.
Active ingredients, dosage form and purpose
The main active ingredient of the herbicide "Rap" is glyphosate (isopropylamine salt). 360 grams are supplied per liter of liquid. The release form is an aqueous solution. Belongs to the chemical class of organophosphorus compounds. Available for sale in 20 liter canisters. The license is valid until the end of March 2019 and has not been renewed.
Herbicide "Rap" is an effective product with a wide spectrum of action. It copes not only with annual and biennial dicotyledonous weeds, but also with cereals (not every chemical product can boast of this). "Rap" is used to combat the main pests:
- creeping wheatgrass;
- field bindweed;
- field thistle;
- pig farmer
However, these are by no means all types of weeds that the herbicide destroys. The use is relevant for crops of grain, sunflower and flax. Used in agriculture.
Mechanism of action of continuous action herbicide
Herbicide "Rap" has a wide spectrum of effects. This became possible due to the mechanism of how it penetrates the plant and acts on its cells.
“Rap” only affects weeds, and it penetrates through leaves and other green parts. Moves along the conduction system, cell sap is involved. Immediately it affects all plant systems, which leads to the beginning of death. The action is irrevocable.
The average time for weeds to die off is about a week. But young weeds can die within 5 days. At the same time, if there are bad weather conditions and low humidity, then the complete death of the plant is observed only after 30 days.
After the herbicide poison enters the plant’s body, the initial appearance of yellowness is observed. Over time it only gets stronger.At the extreme stages of the plant dying from the influence of the herbicide, a slight brown tone appears. Then the leaves die, followed by all other plant systems.
Pros of use
Herbicide "Rap" is a recognized remedy in the country. It is effectively used in agriculture, as well as on private plantations. This is explained by a number of reasons:
- the herbicide affects all parts of the plant, that is, wilting occurs not only in the above-ground part of the weed crop, but also in its internal, underground part;
- there is no memory effect, that is, you can sow any crop, and it will not lead to harmful consequences;
- can be used with other types of poisons; no negative effects or reduction in the effectiveness of any of them have been identified;
- allows you to save the enterprise’s budget, because products based on this active ingredient have a minimal price in comparison with others;
- fights various annual and perennial weeds, so the use of other means is usually not required;
- high degree of efficiency - achieved through the use of an emulsifier of the last group;
- crop rotation is not limited in any way, the herbicide can be used before planting;
- operates regardless of weather conditions, stops working only when frost occurs.
Another significant advantage of the Rap herbicide is that it can be used in various ways. In addition to the usual treatment, it is possible to spray it by air.
Consumption rate
The application rate depends on the type of object being treated, the harmful weed. The way Rapa is used is also changing. So, you will need:

- from 4 to 8 liters for citrus and fruit objects from perennial cereal dicotyledonous weeds;
- from 2 to 5 liters, if we are talking about sugar beets and corn when treating annual and biennial weeds;
- from 2 to 3 potatoes, cabbage, soybeans and sunflowers from annual crops;
- 3 liters for treating a flax field against creeping wheatgrass;
- from 2 to 8 liters for spring, vegetable, and grain fields (the volume depends on the type of weed; the older they are, the more required);
- up to 0.6 liters for alfalfa field from thin-stemmed fork;
- 3 liters from desiccation of grain fields;
- from 2 to 3 liters for long flax against all types of weeds;
- from 2 to 3 liters for sunflower fields.
