“Mastitis forte” is a medicine made in the Netherlands, successfully used to treat small pets from udder inflammation. The instructions for use of Mastieta Forte for goats also say that the medicine is successfully used to treat carnivorous animals for dermatitis and otitis, the pathogenesis of which involves various pathogens. Sold in tubes, the dose is designed for one use.
Pharmacological properties
The combined effect includes anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. The composition includes antibiotics of various spectrums of action.The drug is directed against the activity of bacteria of the genera Streptococcus, Klebsiella and Escherichia coli.
Tetracycline and neomycin in the drug penetrate the bacterial wall and inhibit protein synthesis, causing the death of the pathogen. Bacitracip disrupts the production of peptidoglycan, which is necessary for the construction of the cell wall, and prednisolone has antiallergic properties, making it easier for the animal to accept the drug.
Indications
Most often, Mastiet Forte is used for the treatment of chronic and acute mastitis in large and small ruminants, including goats. It can also be used for males in case of balanoposthitis - inflammation of the glans penis. The body of carnivorous animals responds well to treatment with the drug when suffering from dermatitis or otitis of bacterial etiology.
Instructions for use of “Mastieta forte” for goats
One tube of medicine - for one use. The udder must be clean. Before use, all milk should be milked from the udder. The nipple is cleaned of dirt and milk residues. After this, remove the cap from the tube and inject the medicine into the affected quarter of the udder, carefully injecting the suspension. After removing the syringe, the nipple is pinched with your fingers and gently massaged. The optimal period between administration of the drug is 24 hours; it must be administered 3 days in a row to complete the full course of treatment. The milk obtained during the course of treatment should not be eaten or fed to other animals.
If only part of the udder is affected, milk from the unaffected part can be fed to dogs or cats.Meat from slaughtered animals should also not be eaten unless 3 days have passed since the end of therapy.
People administering the drug should not smoke, drink, or eat during the procedure. Apply the medicine only with clean, pre-washed hands. It is advisable to check with employees whether they have an allergic reaction to one of the components of Mastieta Forte. If liquid gets on the skin or mucous membranes, immediately rinse the affected area with running water. Any allergic reaction will be a reason to contact a medical facility.
Possible contraindications
Cannot be used for sensitive animals with individual intolerance to one or another component of the drug. Data on the goat's sensitivity can be obtained from the disease history. It is not recommended to use the drug for dry animals to avoid damage to the mammary duct. Cleaning open wounds or ulcers with wet wipes is strictly prohibited. Overdose is extremely rare, and no specific symptoms of the condition have been identified.
Side effects
There are practically no side effects when using the drug. Goats tolerate the drug components well and recover quickly. In case of individual intolerance, you may notice a short-term increase in temperature, depression, and refusal of food or water. On average, after 2-3 days the animal fully recovers, appetite and normal activity return.
Storage conditions
The drug is stored only in official packaging, in a dark and cool place, protected from ultraviolet radiation. It is not allowed to store the medicine together with food or feed.The packaging must be placed in a place inaccessible to children or animals. Suitable temperature is from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Analogs
If the use of the medicine is impossible, “Mastiet” is replaced with two effective analogues - “Mastinon Forte” or “Mastomycin”. The first medicine contains the antibiotics gentamicin and clindamycin, which have an antibacterial effect. "Mastomycin" contains oxytetracycline and neomycin, which affect pathogenic microflora and cause the death of pathogens within 3 days from the start of therapy.
