Pink tomatoes are traditionally classified as salad varieties, primarily due to the large size of the fruit. But the Brandy pink tomato is also distinguished by its excellent taste, which is appreciated by gardeners and has earned only positive reviews.

Tomatoes do not have a single axial stem. A series of successive shoots, which are also called stepsons, is mistakenly mistaken for it. Conventionally, it is customary to call the stem on which the first inflorescence is formed the main one.
Characteristics of the tomato variety “Brandy pink”
The “Brandy Pink” variety is intended for growing indoors in the middle climate zone. In the southern regions it also grows outdoors.
This is what its main characteristics look like:
- an early-ripening variety with a ripening period of 85-100 days and a phased period of ripening of tomatoes at different levels;
- the plant is medium-sized, up to 1.5-1.8 meters tall, with an indeterminate type of stem;
- average branching, potato-type leaf, pubescent, smooth, green;
- the variety forms inflorescences above the level of 9-12 leaves;
- ripening is gradual, as tomatoes ripen on clusters of different levels;
- The fruits are flat-round, with slight ribbing at the base. The weight is impressive, from 250 to 450 grams;
- the pulp is very soft, juicy, multi-chambered with a small number of seeds;
- the skin is smooth, thin, pale pink;
- the taste of the tomato is simply excellent, sweet, reminiscent of watermelon;
- Tomatoes are used as salads and for preparing tomato semi-finished products: juices, pastes, ketchups.
Varieties with unlimited growth have their advantages and disadvantages. They must be tied up and a number of activities are carried out to form the bush. At the same time, such tomatoes produce a larger harvest, which is characterized by the gradual ripening of the fruit.
With a lack of moisture, rapid ripening of the set fruits begins. When experiencing stress, the plant tries to reproduce seeds faster and gets rid of reproductive parts that absorb nutrients. The plant sheds flowers and formed ovaries en masse.
Features of cultivation and care
The rules of care are quite standard. Here's a quick rundown of basic techniques for caring for plants with unlimited growth.
- Tomatoes are heat-loving plants and in most cases are grown in seedlings. For short growing seasons, seeds are sown for seedlings in mid-March.
- Seedlings emerge with the appearance of 2 permanent leaves in separate containers or boxes, with a planting pattern of 10x10 cm.
- Care comes down to timely watering, fertilizing and observing temperature and light conditions. All these measures will allow you to grow strong and healthy seedlings suitable for early planting in a greenhouse.
- Tomatoes are planted in a permanent place in mid-May, at 60 days of age. Planting density is no more than 3 bushes per square meter. Plants are tied to stakes, trellises or garden netting, providing support to the main stem.
- In large-fruited, tall tomatoes, the plant is formed into one stem. Remove shoots and dying leaves on the lower part of the plant, up to the first cluster. This promotes increased air circulation, preventing the possibility of fungal diseases.
- After the formation of 6-8 brushes, the growth of the bush is limited by cutting the shoot at the top point, through three leaves above the ovary. The stepsons growing from the axils of the leaves are regularly removed, leaving a stump of 3-4 cm.
- Watering should be moderate, followed by loosening the top layer. Loosening prevents the soil from drying out and improves air exchange. The stem is covered with earth to improve nutrition of the roots located at the base.
- The optimal temperature should be 24-26 degrees. It is advisable to maintain humidity no higher than 70%. This is achieved by regular ventilation. It is important to maintain the humidity level during the period of mass flowering.
- Tomatoes are fertilized once every three weeks, selecting the composition of the fertilizer depending on the condition of the plants and the stage of development.
Harvesting begins at the end of July and continues until the end of the growing season. Up to 5-6 kg of tomatoes are harvested from one plant. Green fruits ripen well at home.
