Composition and form of fertilizer release
Megafol is produced by an Italian company, from plant amino acids with the addition of polysaccharides, betaine, potassium and prohormonal compounds.
The chemical composition of the fertilizer is as follows:
- 28% amino acids;
- 8% soluble potassium;
- 3% nitrogen;
- 9% plant organic carbon.
The drug arrives on retail shelves in the form of a brown liquid concentrate, which must be diluted in the specified concentration before use. There are packages on sale for both small private farms and industrial enterprises. There are 25 and 30 ml bottles, 1 liter bottles and plastic canisters containing 5 or 25 liters of fertilizer. This packaging is much more convenient than drugs in tablets, which require time to dissolve.
The Italian drug is intended to increase the yield of cultivated plants, stimulate their immunity to diseases and reduce sensitivity to adverse weather conditions, including return frosts. In addition, seedlings treated with Megafol quickly adapt to a new location after transplantation.
Pros and cons of Megafol
The biostimulator of crop growth and development has not been on the domestic market for long, but has already become a favorite among homestead owners and farmers due to its working qualities.
They listed the following benefits of fertilizer:
- Possibility of application for various cultural and ornamental plants;
- increasing the productivity of fruit plants;
- increasing resistance to cold snaps, temperature changes and recurrent frosts;
- stimulation of crop development, increasing the number of flowers and ovaries, and, accordingly, fruits;
- the possibility of combined use with other chemicals after the test;
- resistance to precipitation (stays on the leaves of crops for a long time, even if the weather is rainy);
- lack of phytotoxicity if the consumption rates specified in the instructions are observed.
The main disadvantage of the biostimulant is its high cost, due to foreign production. In addition, at home, fertilizer should be used with extreme caution, as the chemical can lead to poisoning of pets by fumes.
Types of products
The Italian-made drug reaches store shelves in the form of a liquid concentrate, packaged in containers of different sizes. In order to try the fertilizer, you can purchase a 25 ml sachet, which is enough to treat a small number of plantings, and then decide on the advisability of using a growth stimulator.
Area of application of the drug
"Megafol" is used in gardening and farming for a wide range of crops, however, in order for the chemical to be beneficial, it is necessary to adhere to the application periods and fertilizer consumption rates recommended in the instructions.
Foliar feeding
The annotation for the drug states that the most favorable method of use is foliar feeding. It is carried out at different times, depending on the crop, starting in mid-spring. First, prepare a working solution and pour it into a spray bottle, and then generously spray the planted crops, but make sure that the liquid does not drip onto the ground.
It is advisable to carry out work early in the morning or after the heat of the day has subsided, in the late afternoon. Thanks to this method, the components of the biostimulator quickly penetrate into the tissues of cultivated plants and are distributed to all parts, starting their work.
Root fertilizer
Megafol is not used as a root fertilizer, since the effectiveness of this method is much lower than when spraying green mass. And given that the biostimulator is expensive, gardeners try to use the working solution to the maximum benefit.
Instructions for use for different crops
When starting to cultivate a garden or field, it is worth looking at the instructions and clarifying what rate of fertilizer is needed for a particular plant.
For fruit and berry plants
Fruit and berry crops are sprayed with fertilizer three times during the growing season. The first treatment is carried out in the spring, until the buds form, subsequent treatments are carried out at intervals of 2-3 weeks. To prepare the working solution, take 10 liters of water and add 25 to 35 ml of fertilizer to a bucket, mix thoroughly. From 200 to 300 ml of working fluid is used per linear meter of garden. If the gardener notices that the plants are in a weakened state, the biostimulator can be used more than 3 times.
For cereals, beans and corn
Plants' need for fertilizer increases during the period of stem growth, however, if crops are in a stressed state after temperature changes or unfavorable weather conditions, they can be fed additionally. Approximately 30 ml of the drug is added to 10 liters of clean water and mixed until smooth. From 50 to 200 ml of working solution are used per square meter of field, depending on the condition of the plants.
For vegetable crops
Vegetable plants are sprayed with a biostimulant regardless of where they are grown - in a greenhouse or open ground. However, in the first case, 15 ml of fertilizer is added to a 10-liter bucket of water, and in the second, the dosage is doubled. During the season, 3-4 sprayings are allowed, the number of procedures depends on the health of the vegetable crops. Feeding will be especially useful during periods of decreased night temperatures or dry weather. About 250 ml of working fluid is needed per square bed.
For oilseeds and technical varieties
Such plants need to use the drug during periods of stress. The standard rate of fertilizer (from 25 to 35 ml) is dissolved in 10 liters of water and the crops are sprayed with this liquid. To treat one square meter you will need from 50 to 300 ml of working solution.
For decorative flowers
Ornamental plants can be sprayed with a biostimulant throughout the season, the main thing is to take a 2-week break between treatments. To prepare the solution, pour 25 ml of the concentrated drug into 10 liters of clean water.
Safety precautions for use
When working with a biostimulator, adhere to basic safety requirements - use protective clothing and a mask.
Best before date
The shelf life of Megafol fertilizer is 5 years from the date of production, subject to storage rules.
Analogs
You can replace the biostimulator with drugs such as “Aminofol Plus"or "Tekamin Max", they have a different composition, but a similar effect on crops.
