The shelves of modern supermarkets are filled with alcoholic beverages. But true connoisseurs know that the best are homemade alcoholic drinks. Placing a bottle of orange wine on the festive table means surprising your guests. None of them will refuse to drink a glass of the original strong drink. Moreover, you can cook it all year round, because fruit is always on sale.
Subtleties of cooking
Experienced winemakers know the tricks of preparing a high-quality alcohol-containing product:
- The orange fruits are passed through a juicer, which the housewife has, in order to obtain the largest amount of liquid.
- Granulated sugar and water are added to the juice (400 grams of sugar crystals and 400 milliliters of liquid are added per 1 liter).
- Only distilled water is used.
Young wine is poured into thoroughly washed and dried glass bottles. It is better not to use plastic for these purposes. Then the containers are closed with wooden stoppers.
Required Products and Tools
To prepare an alcoholic drink, the following ingredients are required:
- oranges;
- granulated sugar;
- yeast. Moreover, granular ones in small bags should under no circumstances be used. They only take a special wine product.

Prepare the necessary equipment:
- large enamel tank for mixing ingredients;
- water seal;
- glass bottles for storing the finished drink;
- glass containers for fermentation;
- juicer.
It is important that all items are clean and dry.
How to make wine from oranges at home
Making homemade wine takes a lot of time. But the result will definitely please the hostess and her guests.
Classic orange wine
Making wine according to the classic recipe is simple:
- Juice, sugar, yeast, water are combined in a tall container, the top of which is tied with gauze.
- The container is placed in a dark, warm room. Every day the contents are stirred with a wooden spatula with a long handle.
- After 3-4 days, you can feel a sour smell, and foam will appear on the surface, which should be removed.
- A small portion of sugar is added to the wort.
- The liquid is placed in a fermentation container, which is closed with a water seal.
- The container is again placed in its original place.
- On the third day, another portion of sugar crystals is added.
- After three days, the procedure is repeated.
- After about 2 months, the alcoholic product will become lighter in color and sediment will appear at the bottom. The wine is bottled through cheesecloth and sealed.
At first, the young liquid has a sharp taste and unpleasant odor, but after a month these troubles will disappear. The product can be tasted. If sediment appears at the bottom, pour the liquid again.
Polish recipe
The main ingredients are mixed and left to ferment for 8-11 days. The wort is filtered and allowed to ferment in a container with a water seal for the same period. The sediment is removed again. The liquid is left alone for 3 months. Then it is bottled. But it’s better to drink strong alcohol after six months.
With bananas and raisins
The fermentation container is filled with the main ingredients, raisins, chopped bananas. A day later, pectin is introduced. A water seal is installed and the liquid is left for a week. It is filtered through cheesecloth and sweetened if necessary. This procedure is repeated every month 3 times.
With grapefruit
Grapefruits are peeled and internal films removed and passed through a juicer. The resulting liquid is mixed with orange juice, water and placed in a warm room for two weeks. Filtration is carried out, wine starter and sugar are introduced. The product is left to ferment for 50-60 days. Then the wine is bottled. You can try it after 2-3 months.
With ginger
Orange juice is combined with chopped ginger, honey and semi-sweet red wine. After 25-30 days, the product is filtered and poured into glass containers. Store it on the refrigerator door.
Fortified orange wine
Slices of lemons and oranges are poured with vodka or rum. Infusion is carried out for about two months. The drink is filtered and bottled.
Storage periods and rules
It is better to store wine in a dark, cool pantry for no more than 2 years.
The orange alcoholic drink is served with fatty meat dishes. Since wine has a lot of acid, it will facilitate the rapid absorption of heavy foods. And fats, in turn, lubricate the walls of the stomach; a person does not become intoxicated suddenly.
