Instructions for use and mechanism of action of the herbicide Forward

For crops to grow and develop, they need freedom from weeds, which can be destroyed using chemicals. One of them is the herbicide “Forward”, which has a selective effect. It is successfully used in fields with sunflowers, peas, rapeseed, flax, sugar beets, chickpeas, soybeans, freeing them from cereal weeds.

General characteristics of the drug "Forward"

"Forward" refers to herbicides with a selective effect, applied after germination of cultivated plants. It is based on chisalofop-P-ethyl. Its content in 1 liter of the drug is 60 grams. The active substance is dissolved in organic solvents before packaging. It is odorless and does not react to direct sunlight.

Herbicide "Forward" is produced in the form of an oil emulsion, packaged in plastic canisters of 5 and 10 liters.

How does weed killer work?

Thanks to the oil base of the herbicide, the absorption of the substance by weeds is faster. Penetration into the plant occurs through the leaf mass. Small drops of the sprayed drug form a film on the surface of the plant and prevent the active substance from evaporating. The oil emulsion is resistant to precipitation and changes in weather conditions. Chizalofop-P-ethyl quickly reaches the root system and growth points of weeds, stops their development and leads to complete death. The first signs of effectiveness are observed within a week after spraying; after 15-20 days, the harmful plants dry out.

Consumption rate

A single treatment with the “Forward” herbicide is carried out in accordance with the regulations, which recommend the following application rates:

• annual and perennial weeds on flax - from 1.2 to 2.0 liters per 1 hectare;
• annual cycle weeds on soybeans, beets and sunflowers - from 0.9 to 1.2 liters per hectare;
• perennial weeds on the same crops - from 1.2 to 2.0 liters per 1 hectare.

Annual weeds are treated when they have developed 2-4 leaves, perennial weeds - when they reach a height of 15 cm.

Preparation and use of working solution

According to the instructions, the working solution for spraying is prepared immediately before use. For this purpose, perform actions in the following order:

1. The drug is thoroughly mixed in the original packaging (canister).
2. Measure out the required amount of substance to fill the sprayer.
3. Fill the tank halfway with water.
4. Pour the measured herbicide into it.
5. Mix thoroughly.
6. Add water to full volume.
7. Spraying is carried out in compliance with safety precautions.

Safety precautions when working with the product

When processing the area, it is necessary to comply with safety precautions:

• do not allow children, pregnant women, or patients with contraindications to work with herbicides;
• use personal protective equipment (clothing, boots, gloves, goggles, respirator);
• do not enter residential premises wearing protective clothing after treating the area;
• Do not eat, drink or smoke until work is completed;
• do not leave chemicals in public places unattended;
• do not remove protective clothing until work is completed;
• When finished, wash your hands and face with soap;
• If the drug gets on your skin or eyes, rinse them well under running water;
• If the chemical gets inside, you should drink activated carbon, induce vomiting and consult a doctor.

The degree of toxicity of the drug

Herbicide "Forward" is classified as a third class of danger for bees and humans. It is necessary to observe a number of precautions when working with the drug:

• do not spray if the wind speed exceeds 5 m/s;
• do not carry out processing if the distance to the apiary is less than 3 km, to a populated area - closer than 0.3 km;
• before carrying out work, it is necessary to notify the owners of apiaries and limit the flight of bees to 3-4 hours;
• aircraft cannot be used for spraying;
• It is prohibited to use the herbicide “Forward” on private farms;
• Do not spray in the water protection zone or near sources of drinking water.

Compatibility with other substances

Herbicide "Forward" can be used in tank mixtures with other drugs - "Betaren", "Lornet". Experts recommend conducting a preliminary check for compatibility of components. To do this, mix the substances in a separate container and observe their reaction. If sediment or flakes form, the mixture should not be used.

How to store it correctly and for how long

If the original packaging is not damaged, the drug can be stored for up to 3 years. The optimal temperature ranges from -15 ⁰С to +35 ⁰С.

After using sprayers, they must be treated with an alkaline solution and rinsed with warm water, and the paper packaging must be disposed of.

Herbicides are stored in a special warehouse separately from fertilizers, with the container tightly closed and a label attached..
