Active ingredients and form of the drug "Helios"

The main component in the Helios herbicide is the organophosphorus compound glyphosate. Its content in the chemical is 360 grams per liter of the drug. The pesticide is produced in the form of an aqueous solution, packaged in 20-liter canisters.

Herbicide "Helios" is indispensable for preparing fallows and fields for planting potatoes, sowing melons, grains, ornamental and oilseeds. After its use, lawns are created, vegetables and flower crops are planted. The pesticide is used to clear unwanted vegetation from protective zones under power lines, highway shoulders, railroad tracks, airfields, and industrial zones.

"Helios" is highly effective for many plants:

• pigweed;
• thistle;
• bindweed;
• dicotyledonous and cereal weeds;
• woody and shrubby plants.

Principle of operation

After the weeds are treated with a solution of the herbicide "Helios", it gradually penetrates into the plant, as a result of which the synthesis of amino acids in the cells stops. The process of chlorophyll formation is suppressed by the active substance of the pesticide. After 2-5 days, weeds show signs of chlorosis - the leaves turn pale, and after 2-3 weeks, perennial weeds die completely, including the root. It should be remembered that Helios only affects weeds in the growing season. The pesticide does not affect those that have sprouted after treatment.

• the ability to destroy not only the above-ground parts of unwanted plants, but also their roots;
• reducing the number of necessary mechanical treatments to control weeds;
• lack of pesticide activity in the soil, which creates safety for future crops;
• the drug is well retained on the leaves, it is difficult to evaporate and drain from the plants, due to which its losses are reduced to zero;
• During the preparation of the working solution, a large amount of foam does not form.

How to prepare the working substance

Before preparing a solution for treatment, check the serviceability of the sprayer, the integrity of the tubes and the possible liquid pressure using clean water. After this, fill the tank 50% with water, turn on mixing and pour in the required amount of herbicide. After 20 minutes, add water to the full volume. The consumption of working fluid is 100-200 liters per hectare.

If the weeds are slightly sensitive to the herbicide, its effect is enhanced by other drugs.

You should not pour dirty water into the tank, since clay particles can bind the active components and reduce their effect.

Hard water can cause sediment to form.

Processing method and time, substance consumption

Spraying of vegetative weeds is carried out two weeks before tillage. This requires dry, windless weather with an air temperature from +12 ⁰С to +25 ⁰С. If precipitation is forecast, work should be completed 6 hours before rain. Weeds are treated once. In this case, the working fluid is consumed in the amount of 100-200 liters per hectare. The concentration of the solution depends on the purpose:

• cleaning fallows and fields for sowing from annual and dicotyledonous weeds - 2-4 liters per hectare;
• protection of fallows and arable land from perennial weeds - 4-6 liters per hectare;
• freeing fallows and fields for sowing from harmful perennial weeds - 6-8 liters per hectare.

Safety precautions at work

When treating with the herbicide "Helios", you must remember the following safety measures:

• do not allow persons under 18 years of age, patients with contraindications, pregnant or lactating women to work with pesticides;
• use special protective equipment - clothing, shoes, gloves, glasses, respirator;
• upon completion of work, soak clothes in warm water;
• Do not eat, drink or smoke until the end of spraying;
• prepare the working solution in a special container;
• notify apiary owners about the upcoming treatment;
• exclude the use of the herbicide "Helios" near water bodies and sources of drinking water;
• have a first aid kit with medications available;
• provide first aid to the victim if the drug gets into the eyes, respiratory tract or inside.

Toxicity and compatibility

Herbicide "Helios" belongs to the third class of danger to humans and bees. Need to remember:

1. Spraying should be carried out in the morning or evening before heavy dew falls.
2. If the wind exceeds 4 m/s, the work should be cancelled.
3. It is recommended to limit bee flights to at least 3 hours.
4. The pesticide should not be used on the windward side of residential buildings.

Herbicide "Helios" is compatible with other drugs of similar action. In tank mixtures they are used to enhance the action of the chemical and obtain greater effect in the fight against weeds.

Shelf life and storage conditions

Helios herbicide is stored in its original packaging in a dry, dark place at positive temperatures - from +5 ⁰С to +35 ⁰С. Access to the drug is restricted to children and animals.The label must indicate the date of manufacture of the pesticide. If these conditions are met, the drug can be stored for 3 years from the date of manufacture.
