Almost every owner of at least a small piece of land tries to grow such popular food products as tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, and grapes. It is no secret that these crops are loved not only by people, but also by malicious microorganisms, the fight against which can only be constant and irreconcilable. The use of Kuprolux, with knowledge of the intricacies of its use, will help to reap a decent harvest.
Composition and release form of the drug "Kuprolux"
The wettable powder contains 2 active ingredients: 689.5 g/kg copper oxychloride and 42 g/kg cymoxanil. The fungicide is sold in foil bags:
- box with 200 sachets of 6.5 g of Kuprolux;
- box with 150 pcs. 12.5 g each
Purpose and principle of operation
"Kuprolux" is designed to combat plant diseases caused by fungi and other microorganisms. This is a contact fungicide. "Kuprolux" is used for the prevention and treatment of common infections. The harm of the drug against pathogens is explained by blocking RNA synthesis in their cells.
Consumption rate
The manufacturer names the dosage of the fungicide when treating plants. "Kuprolux" shows the best results when used prophylactically. The complexity of the issue lies in the number of fungicide treatments.
In addition, too intensive use of Kuprolux can suppress the development of the culture itself. The cost of harvesting will also increase. When determining the number of fungicide treatments, it is recommended to take into account:
- weather conditions in a given year of cultivation;
- variety resistance;
- sources of infection;
- the condition of a perennial plant in the presence of a chronic disease;
- protection of the crop from wind and short-term cold snaps, sun exposure.
Culture | Disease | Symptoms | Norms of “Kuprolux” (g/10 l of water) and working solution (l/100 m2) | Spraying time | |
Grape | Mildew | It appears powerfully on leaves and brushes. The leaves on top are covered with shapeless spots ranging from yellowish to dark brown. White threads of spores are visible from below. A white coating forms on the stalk.The brush turns black quickly. Small berries dry out along with the brush. | 25-30 | 10 | Before flowering. Subsequent ones - with an interval of 10-12 days. |
Onions for getting heads | Downy mildew | 2-3 weeks after germination, the feather looks withered. The leaves become lighter and transparent oval spots appear on them. Drying begins from the tip of the leaf. The pen is deformed. | 25-30 | 5 | Preventatively – 1.5 weeks after emergence. Then periodically, every 10-12 days. |
Open ground cucumber | Downy mildew | It often appears during the fruiting period. The areas of the leaf between the veins become lighter and merge into a common spot. The entire leaf becomes bright yellow. The edges of the sheet curl and dry out. Dieback moves towards the growth point. | 25-30 | 10 | Before the formation of the ovary. |
Open ground tomato, potato | Late blight | Yellowness appears on the lower leaves. They turn brown and dry out. The process is moving upward. Fruits at any stage of ripeness are covered with dark brown spots with hardening inside the pulp. | 50 | 5 | 10 days after planting the seedlings. Then - every 10-12 days. |
Instructions for use
"Kuprolux" acts on the surface of the plant. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that the leaves and stems are completely wetted on all sides with an antifungal agent. The infection is not cured in one visit. If symptoms of infection are detected, immediately begin spraying with a fungicide, adhering to a repeat treatment schedule. It is possible to lengthen the time intervals between procedures for using Kuprolux, depending on weather conditions and the rate of plant development, in a preventive situation.
To better dissolve the wettable powder of the drug in water, perform the following steps:
- Fill the spray bottle with water to half the volume.
- In a separate container, dissolve the entire portion of the fungicide in a small amount of liquid using a hydraulic mixer.
- Pour this suspension into a spray bottle.
- Stir for 7 minutes.
- Add water to the required volume.
- Mix for another 5 minutes.
During spraying, Kuprolux is not allowed to precipitate. The procedure is carried out in clear weather, with weakened rays of the sun. Kuprolux fungicide should not be used more than 4 times per season.
If the owner has been using a piece of land for many years, then he can predict the course of development of a fungal disease, which he has fought with more than once. For example, for a grape vine that has already been affected by mildew, there is a high probability that the fungus overwintered with it. The most effective will be the first treatment with Kuprolux fungicide on the day the winter shelter is removed. When the buds have not yet opened, it is easy to carry out.
If an infection smoldered on the bushes in the fall, then after treatment leaves will bloom 2-3 times larger than they were last year.
For tomato plantings, late blight is a real disaster. It seems that in recent decades it has already merged with the nightshade organism, even if the seeds have been pickled. There is no doubt that he is always nearby or already inside. The only question is the pace of its development, which depends on the weather, the method of watering and the cleanliness of the tool used for pinching. Therefore, the first treatment with the Kuprolux fungicide is carried out in containers with seedlings. Then the repetitions follow the schedule outlined in the table above.
Security measures
The fungicide "Kuprolux" is moderately dangerous for both people and animals. It does not cause irritation or increase skin sensitivity. When the respiratory organs are open, slight short-term swelling of the larynx may form.While spraying Kuprolux, you should not talk, eat, smoke, or breathe through your mouth. It is advisable to cover the respiratory organs with at least a bandage. Wear gloves. Cover the skin as much as possible with clothing and shoes.
After treatment with the Kuprolux fungicide, gardening and field operations should be resumed no earlier than 3 days later. Consume fruits after 20 days, and grapes after 30.
First aid
Despite the mild toxicity of Kuprolux, a person may develop an allergy. In such a situation, you need to immediately quit work, move away and regain your breath. Further:
- wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap;
- Rinse open eyes with a copious stream for 5 minutes (if the drug gets into them);
- take 3-4 glasses of water and induce vomiting (if drops are swallowed);
- wear clean clothes.
Fungicide compatibility
"Kuprolux" does not react with weak acids. In an alkaline environment it loses its effectiveness. Unless absolutely necessary, the fungicide should not be mixed with other drugs.
Storage rules
The shelf life of Kuprolux is 2 years. Keep it at temperatures from -30 °C to + 40 °C away from residential buildings and feed. Store the fungicide hermetically sealed in a dry, ventilated area where animals have no access.
Analogs
The diseases described are treated not only with Kuprolux. Fungi are killed when cymoxanil is combined with another chemical compound or with the help of other active substances. We should not forget to alternate the use of Kuprolux with various drugs.
