Fungicides are drugs intended to protect plants from various diseases. When choosing a fungicide, you should carefully study the manufacturer's instructions for use and act in accordance with the instructions. Composition, release form and principle of action of the fungicide "Metamil MC"
This is a two-component drug intended to combat potato diseases in industrial areas and summer cottages.Produced by the Russian company JSC Shchelkovo Agrokhim. It belongs to the means of contact-systemic action and provides better plant protection due to its complex effects.
Contains: mancozeb - 640 grams/kg and metalaxyl - 80 grams/kg. The fungicide is produced in the form of water-dispersible granules and packaged in water-soluble bags covered with a metallized film (to protect against moisture, steam, sunlight), with a capacity of 25 grams and 5 kilograms. Each package contains detailed information about the purpose, rules for using the drug, release date and expiration date.
Mancozeb protects plants on the surface - it destroys the fungus on the leaves and stems of potatoes, metalaxyl penetrates the plant tissue, preventing infection and the spread of infection from the inside. The likelihood of developing resistance to the drug is very low.
In what cases is it used?
The product is used for preventive purposes to treat potato plantings and protect them from fungal infections. It is also effective in the case of detection of late blight and alternaria on plants in the initial stages. The fungicide provides:
- reliable protection against diseases due to the dual (contact and systemic) action of active substances;
- effects on all parts of the plant and new growth;
- preventive and therapeutic effects;
- protection of tubers from fungus in the field and during storage;
- better keeping quality of potatoes;
- preservation of properties at high humidity and after rain;
- plant protection for 2 weeks after treatment.
The drug penetrates plant tissue within 30-40 minutes after spraying. If you strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions for using the fungicide, it is not phytotoxic. Grown potatoes are stored better and are safe for health.
Consumption rate
Consumption of the fungicide "Metamil MC" is 2-2.5 liters of mixture per hectare or 200-400 liters/hectare of ready-made working solution. The first preventive treatment is carried out during the growing season, before the tops close in the rows, subsequent ones - after 10-14 days.
3 treatments are enough for complete plant protection. Field work can be carried out 3 days after spraying the plots.
Instructions for use of the drug
The working solution is prepared before use. It is not allowed to store the finished mixture. 1/3 of the total volume of liquid is poured into the tank, fungicide is added and mixed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Then water is added to the required volume. The finished solution is mixed again. It is more convenient not to pour the granules into the tank, but to first dissolve them in a small amount of water and then send them to a container for the working solution.
"Metamil MC" is suitable for preparing tank mixtures. It is compatible with many insecticides and herbicides. When preparing a complex mixture, the components included in it must be checked for physical and chemical compatibility.
The fungicide should not be sprayed in windy and dry hot weather. Spraying is carried out at temperatures from +18 to +22 ° C and air humidity of 60-65%. Suitable for ground use with a sprayer and for processing potato fields from aircraft.
Precautionary measures
The drug is toxic, when working with it you should be careful, strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions, and do not exceed the recommended dosage. The fungicide has a hazard class 2 for humans (highly toxic) and a hazard class 3 for bees (moderately toxic). Dangerous for fish, treatment is not carried out closer than 2 kilometers from the reservoir. Before treatment, beekeepers should be notified at least 5 days in advance; insects may fly out 5-6 hours after spraying potato fields with fungicide.
The preparation of the working solution is carried out at specialized sites that exclude the appearance of strangers and domestic animals, away from residential buildings and premises for livestock. After work, the site must be disinfected.
Preparation is carried out in special clothing (long-sleeved robe, protective suit), it must be fully buttoned. The face is protected with a respirator, hands with rubber gloves. Wear safety glasses or a shield to prevent liquid from getting into your eyes. Cover your hair with a cap or scarf.
Important: In case of contact with eyes or skin, the area should be rinsed immediately with running water.
While working, you must not smoke or eat. After work, thoroughly wash hands and exposed areas of the body. Store the drug away from food and animal feed, in places inaccessible to children and animals, and do not allow the packaging to get wet. Keep away from direct sunlight, in tightly closed bags, at temperatures from -5 to +35 ° C.
