Rovral is a modern contact fungicide used both in large greenhouses and farms, and in private plots. The effectiveness of the drug depends on its correct use, compliance with safety precautions and storage. Below we will consider not only the composition, mechanism of action, advantages and disadvantages, but also the instructions for using the fungicide Rovral, its compatibility with other drugs.

Composition, release form and purpose of the drug Rovral

The main active ingredient of this drug is iprodione. Its content is 50% (500 grams of active substance/kilogram of fungicide weight). Rovral is produced in the form of a wettable beige powder with a slight odor. A standard pesticide package weighs 1 kilogram.

Rovral is used to combat diseases of sunflower, cucumbers and tomatoes in protected soil, such as seedling rot and Phomopsis.

Mechanism of action of the fungicide

The pesticide applied to plant parts affected by fungal diseases has a two-level mechanism of action:

1. The active ingredient of the drug reduces the rate of germination of pathogen spores.
2. The pesticide blocks the development of mycelium.

Thanks to this mechanism of action, Rovral, when used correctly, causes weakening and then complete death of the pathogen.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of Rovral include:

1. High efficiency.
2. Low toxicity to humans, beneficial insects, fish, birds, soil microflora.
3. Compatible with most modern pesticides.
4. Two-level mechanism of action.
5. There are no cases of pathogen resistance to the drug.

Among the disadvantages of this fungicide, it is worth highlighting the rather large package containing 1 kilogram of wettable powder. This amount of pesticide is quickly consumed in large greenhouses and farms.

In household plots, only a small part of open packaging is used, while the rest is stored open for a short time.

Consumption rates

The consumption rate of Rovral working solution depends on the method of its application:

1. Disinfection of holes before planting seedlings - 500 milliliters/well.
2. Watering vegetative plants at the root – 150 milliliters/plant.
3. Dressing of seed material – 10 milligrams/kilogram of seeds.

When coating stems affected by rot, use a mixture of dry powder with calcareous materials (chalk or lime) in equal proportions.

How to prepare a working solution

The Rovral working solution is prepared as follows:

1. Water is poured into a clean and dry container, the volume of which should be equal to or slightly less than half of the amount of working solution required for processing.
2. The amount of fungicide pre-weighed on an electronic scale is poured into the water. To prepare a standard 0.1% solution, add 1.0 grams of the drug to 1 liter of water.
3. The powder is stirred with a wide wooden stick until completely dissolved.
4. The container is filled with water to the volume of working solution required for processing.

The prepared solution is used on the day of preparation. Unused residues are drained and disposed of in accordance with special instructions.

Instructions for use of fungicide Rovral

The fungicide is used for pre-sowing treatment of sunflower seed material, disinfection of planting holes, and preventive treatment of cucumber and tomato stems affected by rot and Phomopsis.

The consumption rate of the working fluid and the rules for preparing the working solution are described above.

Safety precautions when using the drug

When using the drug, it is necessary to use respiratory and vision protection - respirators, safety glasses. When smearing rot on stems, protect the skin of your hands with latex household gloves.

While working with the drug, it is prohibited to smoke or drink water from open containers. Plant processing must be carried out in dry, windless weather, with a maximum air temperature no higher than +21 ⁰WITH.

Degree of toxicity

The drug belongs to toxicity class III, being a low-hazard substance for warm-blooded animals, humans, fish, and birds.

Compatibility with other tools

The fungicide is compatible with most modern fungicides and insecticides, with the exception of aggressive highly alkaline and highly acidic preparations.

Fungicide storage rules

Store the fungicide in a dark and dry place, out of reach of small children and pets. Optimal storage temperature: +5…+25 ⁰C. Shelf life in a closed container is at least 24 months.

Are there any analogues?

The only analogue of this fungicide is the drug Rovral FLO, produced in the form of a suspension concentrate and used on sunflower, lupine, grape plantations to combat rot, Phomopsis and diseases such as oidium.
