Instructions for use and composition of Shogun, herbicide dosage and analogues

Manufacturers of agricultural products produce a wide selection of weed killers. The uniqueness of “Shogun” is its quick and effective effect on annual and perennial weeds. The drug is considered to be of low toxicity to humans and insects, but precautions should not be neglected when spraying areas.

Composition and release form

The product is produced in the form of a concentrated emulsion. The herbicide is sold in 5-liter cans.The active ingredient is propaquizafol (100 g/liter), which penetrates into plants through any parts.

How it works and what it is used for

The drug actively destroys weeds, affecting tissue cells (cellular functioning is disrupted, the formation of fatty acids is inhibited). The leaves absorb "Shogun" within an hour, and plant growth stops after 1-2 days. Yellowing of the leaves is observed after a week, and complete death of the weeds occurs after one and a half to two weeks. Weeds suppressed:

  • chicken millet;
  • wild oats;
  • multi-colored chaff;
  • common broom;
  • field foxtail;
  • wheatgrass;
  • annual bluegrass;
  • canary

Cereal weeds are sensitive to the herbicide at different growth stages. Perennial species do not germinate the next year.

Instructions for using "Shogun"

When processing the site, the type of weed is taken into account. Annuals are sprayed in the period from 3 leaves to the formation of a bush. Perennial weeds are sprayed when the height of the bushes reaches 15-25 cm.

Type of useful crop Consumption rates of the drug l/ha
annual weeds perennial weeds
Potato                                                       1,3-1,5
Sugar beet                                                        0,6-1,2
Linen 0,8 1,5
Buckwheat 0,5-1,0 1,25-1,5
Carrot 0,5-1,0 1,25-1,5
White cabbage 0,5-1,0 1,25-1,5
Onion 0,5-1,0 1,25-1,5

Before preparing the working fluid, the emulsion is shaken. A measured amount of product is diluted in a separate container with 2-3 liters of water. Then the sprayer tank is half filled with water, the herbicide solution is added, and mixed. The tank is completely filled with water, stirring the solution.

Precautionary measures

When spraying, you need to use personal protective equipment (wear gloves, special shoes, a respirator). It is prohibited to smoke, drink, or eat food while treating the area.Empty containers are not used for storing or transporting drinking water, food or for household needs.

Expert:
It is not allowed to spray the herbicide on areas located near the fishery zone. Recommended boundaries are at least 2 km from the coast.

Possible harm

The drug is not considered phytotoxic if you follow the spraying standards recommended by the manufacturer. If the emulsion concentration is increased in the working solution, then chlorotic spots may appear on the leaves of useful crops when sprayed. Visible damage to greenery disappears after some time, and there is no negative impact of “Shogun” on the subsequent growth of cultivated plants or on the quality of the crop.

Shogun herbicide

In case of contact with open skin or mucous membranes, irritation of the skin or eyes occurs. It is necessary to rinse the mucous membranes or skin with plenty of running water. Pregnant women should absolutely not take part in spraying, as there is a possibility of a negative effect of the suspension on the fetus.

Compatibility with other herbicides

Preliminary testing of the mixture of Shogun emulsion and other herbicides is recommended, since sometimes there is a decrease in the effectiveness of the drugs on dicotyledonous cereal weeds. In the absence of test results, it is advisable to use interval herbicides (treatments are carried out every 3-4 days).

Conditions and periods of storage of the product

The drug in its original packaging remains effective for 3 years. To store the herbicide, allocate a place inaccessible to children. It is not permitted to use the allocated room for storing food, drinking water, or animal feed.

Analogues of the drug

The advantage of the Shogun emulsion is its rapid absorption by the plant. Other products can be used as a herbicide of a similar type of action on weeds: “Agil”, “Vidblock”. It must be taken into account that Vidblock contains only 25 g/l of the active substance propaquizafol.

Even a single application of herbicides allows you to control the growth of weeds on the site for several seasons. If you treat the soil in a timely manner, it is easy to prevent the germination of weeds. Preference is given to drugs designed to destroy many types of weeds.
