Training a tamed bird
If you want to have birds, you must first of all provide a place to keep your pets. To accustom birds to a new dovecote, it is important to give them time and opportunity to get used to their home.Therefore, the feathered wards are kept in a dovecote for 5-7 days.
In order for the pigeons to get used to the area, they begin to be released from the enclosure. Birds must remember where they are kept, so they must not be allowed to fly away. To do this, special manipulations are carried out with the wings (flight feathers are cut off at the root, the fan is carefully removed, and the flight feathers are weighted with special weights).
After some time, the pigeons are released to fly freely. At first, the birds do not need to be “chased”, since they must get used to the “new” sky. Some pigeon breeders resort to tricks to train the bird to return. Alternatively, you can apply anise oil to the walls of the dovecote.
