The use of insecticides in the fields is one of the conditions for obtaining a good harvest. Let's consider the composition, active substance, release form of Diazinon, purpose and mechanism of action, use in the fields according to the instructions. How to use it taking into account safety precautions, compatibility of the product, rules and shelf life, substitute insecticidal preparations.
Composition and release form of "Diazinon"
The manufacturer, Nippon Soda Co., produces the drug in the form of a concentrated emulsion in 10 liter canisters and in the form of granules, with the active substance diazinon in the amount of 600 g per 1 liter."Diazinon" refers to FOS, has intestinal and contact effects.
Principle and range of action
Diazinon acts as a nerve poison and has the same effect on insects and warm-blooded animals. The substance inhibits the functions of enzymes that transmit nerve impulses. Insects first lose activity, then die from paralysis.
The drug is used on wheat, barley, beets, tobacco, clover, hops, hemp, cabbage, alfalfa and timothy. Destroys ground beetles, aphids, weevils, scale insects, flea beetles, cutworms, bedbugs, moths, moths, whites, moths, fat beetles, flies, mowers.
“Diazinon” is active at low temperatures, the solution easily penetrates into plants, absorbed through the roots, and due to the systemic action of the product, it spreads throughout all plant tissues.
Instructions for using the drug in the fields
Granulated "Diazinon" in agriculture is used for preventive application once per season in areas that are considered unfavorable for pests. Or in areas where pests have become accustomed to insecticides with pyrethroids. The drug in liquid form is used when pests appear and multiply.
Insecticide application rate according to instructions (in l per hectare):
- wheat – 1.5-1.8;
- barley from aphids – 0.5, from intrastem flies – 1.5;
- beets from aphids and flea beetles - 0.8, from other pests - 1.5-2;
- tobacco – 1-1.5;
- clover – 2-2.5;
- hops from aphids – 2, from mower – 2-2.5;
- hemp – 1.7;
- cabbage – 1;
- alfalfa – 2-3;
- timothy grass – 1.6.
The high efficiency of the drug allows you to do only 1 or 2 treatments to destroy the population. The time that must pass from the last treatment to harvest is 30 days for cabbage and barley, 20 days for other crops. Work on the fields after treatment can begin within 10 days.
Safety precautions
"Diazinon" in terms of toxicity belongs to class 3 for humans (low-toxic drugs), but for bees it is highly toxic (class 1), so it cannot be used for spraying vegetables in areas during the flowering of gardens or meadow grasses.
When working with the drug solution, you need to wear protective clothing, thick gloves, and a respirator. Do not remove protective equipment while work is in progress. If the solution gets on the skin, you need to rinse the area and then wipe it with cotton wool soaked in an alcohol solution. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them with water and, if necessary, instill atropine. If for some reason the solution gets inside, you should drink a glass of water with soda (1 tsp), then another 2-3 glasses of clean water. After this, induce vomiting.
Drug compatibility
The product can be combined with many pesticides, insecticides and fungicides, except for preparations that contain copper. Before preparing a common solution, you need to conduct a small compatibility test: mix 50 ml of a solution of both drugs in a common container and check the reaction. If there is no change in the properties of the solution, then you can mix preparations for treating plants.
Storage rules
The instructions indicate the shelf life of the drug - 4 years, starting from the date of manufacture. The product should be stored in industrial cans or packaging, tightly closed. The warehouse must be dry, dark and ventilated.Fertilizers and other pesticides can be stored together with Diazinon; food, medicines, animal feed, and household products cannot be stored.
Spilled liquid is neutralized with a soda solution (3-4 tablespoons per 1 liter). Canisters and packaging of used product must be burned or disposed of.
The prepared insecticide solution is not stored longer than 1 day; after this period it loses its properties and becomes ineffective. It is not advisable to use it.
Analogs
In terms of the active substance - diazinon - the drug has analogues for use in agriculture: Barguzin 600, Praktik, Ricochet, Diazin Euro, Sharp 600, Diazol, Enlil and Diazinon Express " In personal farms you can use “Vallar”, “Barguzin”, “Muravin”, “Provotox”, “Terradox”, “Grizzly”, “Aardeater”, “Zemlin”, “Thunder”, “Fly-eater”, “Medvegon”, “ Pochin", "Grom-2", "Medvetox".
"Diazinon" insecticide is used in agriculture in fields and on personal plots to treat plants against a complex of common pests. To achieve the effect, you need to carry out 1 or maximum 2 treatments. You can use the product regularly, but you need to remember that with frequent use, pests develop resistance to the substance and become insensitive to it. In this case, you need to change the drug.
The product works actively at low temperatures, which allows it to be used in early spring. It penetrates plants easily and spreads to all parts, which expands the coverage of the insect population. Diazinon is slightly toxic to humans, but can accumulate in fruits, and also has a long waiting period before harvesting - 3-4 weeks.
