Intavir for the Colorado potato beetle is a poisonous water-soluble chemical produced by the Russian manufacturer Fasco. The chemical is available in the form of tablets weighing 8 grams or in powder form. The product is recommended for use in household plots and large farms as a reliable insecticide effective against 50 varieties of garden crop pests.
The main active ingredient in the composition is cypermethrin. The concentration of the substance in Intavir is about 38 grams per 1 kg.After spraying the plants, a microfilm is formed on its surface, which, when sprayed with the drug, covers the surface of the plant with a microfilm. If the product enters the body of insects that harm potato plantings and eat foliage, it leads to paralysis of the pests and their death within 24 hours. How is Intavir used?
To use the drug for pest control, an aqueous solution is first prepared, which is then used to spray the plants. To do this, take one tablet or sachet for dilution in 10 liters of warm water. First, the drug is diluted in a small volume of water, gradually increasing the amount to the recommended value. If it is necessary to treat a small area of potato planting, half a tablet can be used, and the amount of water should be reduced to 5 liters.
The best time for spraying is considered to be morning or evening hours. Treatment of potato plantings against the Colorado potato beetle is carried out in dry weather without wind at a temperature of no more than 25 0C. The shoots are processed completely, including carefully processing the inner and outer surfaces of the leaf blades. The application of the solution is carried out using a continuous method, avoiding the presence of untreated areas during the work, even if there are no obvious signs of larvae or beetles on the potatoes.
The product can be used to control pests of other garden plants. In this case, it is recommended to adhere to the following recommendations:

- codling moth, caterpillar - 1 tablet is diluted in a 10-liter bucket of water;
- weevil - 1.5 tablets per 10 liters of water, sprayed during the growing season;
- whitefly - 2 tablets for every 10 liters of water.

The drug is effective not only for combating the Colorado potato beetle. The product can be used to treat “house plants”. Intavir should be used to combat the Colorado potato beetle only when pests appear. The drug is not used for prophylactic purposes. During one season, potato plantings are treated 3 times and only after the garden crop has flowered.
The last spraying is carried out 20-25 before harvest.
For work, only freshly prepared solution is used, therefore, when planning work, it is necessary to take into account the size of the area of potato plantings. After spraying, the diluted solution cannot be stored.
