drug Baycox

For what diseases is Baycox used?

The medicine is used for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis (eymyriosis) in all groups of poultry. The disease is widespread in young chickens, with a low level of hygiene. Birds become infected with coccidia through dirty bedding; the carriers are recovered specimens and wild birds.

Chickens kept on mesh floors do not suffer from coccidiosis.

Parasites multiply in the stomach and intestines, disrupting the functioning of the digestive organs. Coccidiosis not only weakens chickens, but can lead to their death. The main sign of the disease is brown diarrhea mixed with blood in the bird. When opening dead individuals, an inflamed intestine with numerous small hemorrhages on the walls is visible, the liver is covered with white small nodules.

The drug Baycox effectively destroys parasites without having a detrimental effect on the health of young animals.For greater effect, it is recommended to give the medicine to the livestock in combination with vitamin preparations (Chiktonik, Gamavit) and probiotics (Vetom).

Instructions for use and dosage

Depending on the age and breed of the bird, the dosage of the medicine differs slightly. The drug is added to drinking water so that the entire population has the opportunity to consume the medicine.

For weakened individuals, the working solution is forcibly administered inside through the beak. Baycox is given in a course, under no circumstances, without interrupting treatment even after a noticeable improvement in the bird’s condition.

ampoules of the drug

For chickens

Baycox is given to young eggs and meat-egg breeds of chickens as a preventive measure for coccidiosis, starting from 2 weeks of age. The preventive dose of the drug is 1 ampoule (1 milliliter) per 1 liter of water. Water with medicine is given to chickens for 2 days in a row, with a break at night, pouring a fresh solution on the second day.

If young animals suffer from eimeriosis, they exhibit the following signs of the disease:

  • bloody or red-brown diarrhea;
  • ruffled feathers;
  • lethargy and lack of appetite;
  • growth retardation.

Chickens are given medicine in a dose of 7 milliliters per 1 kilogram of live weight of the chick, or 3 milliliters per 1 liter of boiled clean water. Baycox for the treatment of eimeriosis is also added to drinking water, calculating the dosage according to the number of young animals.

young birds

If the chicken is weak and does not show interest in drinking, the medicine is poured into its beak from a pipette or syringe without a needle. The course of treatment is 2 days, after 5 days the young animals are fed again.

After feeding the Baycox chickens, they need to restore the intestinal microflora and strengthen the body. To do this, add a complex water-soluble vitamin (Chiktonik, Aminovital) to drinking water for 5 days.

Along the way, Vetom powder is added to the food or water, which can be replaced with natural yogurt or curdled milk.

For broilers

Broiler chickens grow rapidly and are more sensitive to intestinal parasites than regular chickens. Baycox is given to broilers as a prophylactic on the 14th day after hatching and on the 35th day if the flock is kept on a solid floor.

The dosage of the drug is the same as for ordinary chickens - 1 ampoule per 1 liter of boiled water. After using Baycox, broilers are advised to give vitamins and a probiotic.

For laying hens

The use of Baycox in laying hens is limited by one nuance - the active substance gets into the egg during treatment.

The drug for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis is used during the period when chickens do not lay eggs, or eggs are not used for food for 7 days.

Eggs collected during this period can be boiled for about 15 minutes and fed to the bird as a feed supplement.
