Every housewife will definitely have her own recipe for making apple jam with lemon for the winter. The taste of the delicacy depends on the composition of the products and the method of preparation. Spices, honey and pumpkin go well with it. They add a unique aroma and taste to the finished product. Preparing a sweet dessert does not require any special skills; all the ingredients are familiar and accessible.
Features of preparing apple jam with lemon for the winter
For future delicacies, you need to choose ripe fruits. They must be whole, not broken and without foulbrood. Fruits should be rinsed well with hot water. Particular attention should be paid to lemons, they should have a thin skin.
It is advisable to cook the delicacy in an enamel pan over low heat. In this case, you need to stir periodically to prevent burning.
Which fruits to choose?
To make jam, it is better to choose sweet and sour varieties of late-ripening apples. The varieties Semerenko, Sinap, Bogatyr, Anis are perfect. Their fruits have a denser texture, making the consistency of the finished jam thick and homogeneous.
Summer varieties are not suitable for preparing delicacies. Their fruits are juicy and friable. As a result, the jam may turn out watery and runny.
Rules for preparing containers
In order for the jam to be well preserved and not lose its taste, the container should be properly prepared. Glass jars with a capacity of 0.7 and 1 liter are best suited for storing treats.
Before sealing the finished product, the jars must be well sterilized. This can be done in the old proven way: place the container upside down on a boiling kettle. After 2-3 minutes, it should be removed using oven mitts and placed on the table to cool.
The lids that will cover the jam should be boiled. These can be either plastic or screw metal lids.
