Gardeners often do not have the opportunity to plant the tomatoes they like in a greenhouse. Tomato Fletcher F1 is adapted to open ground conditions. It pleases with large juicy fruits. Advantage: When placed outdoors, it is easier to comply with the rules for the circulation of vegetable crops.
Features of the Fletcher hybrid
Breeders offered early ripening tomatoes to gardeners.
Plant characteristics:
- growth-limited (determinant) hybrid;
- height < 1.5 m;
- It is recommended to grow in open ground and under temporary film covers;
- early ripening period (from placing seedlings in a permanent place to harvesting fruits < 70 days);
- the plant is prone to growing green mass;
- leaf blades are medium-sized, dark green;
- <4 fruits in hand;
- not affected by Fusarium and Verticillium wilt;
- competent agricultural technology will ensure a yield of 3.2 kg/m².
Tomato bushes are not affected by the nematode. Powerful plants provide gardeners with large berries.
What grows
Summer residents liked the sweet, juicy fruits. Description of Fletcher F1 tomato berries:
- the tomato is spherical, flattened at the top and bottom;
- ripe fruit is dark red;
- weight of one up to 190 g;
- strong, not rough skin;
- juicy dense pulp;
- the taste is sweet with a slight sourness;
- There are 6–8 seed chambers.
The gardener who grew Fletcher knows: ripe tomatoes can be stored for 3 weeks without loss of marketability. The strong skin ensures transportability to the place of sale. The hybrid is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation. It is recommended to grow in private gardens and private plots.
Advice from the authors of the hybrid
The description of the variety or hybrid determines the rules of cultivation. This is the only way to really get the desired tomato harvest. It is required to follow the recommendations of agronomists:
- Place the dishes with the crops in a warm place (25 ⁰ C);
- transfer to the light after the first loops;
- increase daylight hours to 16-18 hours;
- dive into separate containers when real leaves grow;
- do not overfill;
- use root and foliar feeding;
- anyone who planted Fletcher knows: young plants require hardening and ventilation;
- in the fall, add mature natural organic matter under the shovel;
- in the spring, fill the ridges with mineral complexes (potassium, phosphorus);
- to strengthen the bushes, add calcium nitrate (1 tablespoon per hole, sprinkle with earth, do not stir);
- the plant has heavy brushes: a garter is required;
- Fletcher should be planted according to the scheme: 60 cm x 60 cm;
- the soil needs to be covered with mulch (makes caring for plants easier).
For better survival of the bushes, they should be sprayed with an anti-stress drug when planting. Before flowering, it is recommended to apply foliar fertilizing with nitrogen fertilizers. A simple measure will strengthen the plants. Then stop adding N: Fletcher will begin to fatten.
Why do gardeners like the hybrid?
Reviews from summer residents are good. I like the taste, unpretentiousness, universal purpose, size of tomatoes.
A summer resident from the Novosibirsk region says: “I grew bushes at home, then planted a hybrid in a greenhouse. I noted 100% seed germination. The bushes stretched up to 1 m 80 cm. It was necessary to lighten and tie up the brushes. I was pleased with the sweet taste of the tomatoes. I was disappointed by the excessive density of the pulp. This is due to insufficient watering.
The bushes did not suffer from any disease, the pests did not gnaw them. The harvest was collected in 2 stages: in July and late August. Next year I will grow Fletcher in open ground.”
