Cultivated plants are susceptible to dozens of diseases, against which specialized pesticides are used. With their help, it is possible to cope with most infections that would otherwise destroy not only the crop, but also the plants themselves. Fungicides are used against fungi, one of which is Granuflo. To get the effect without harming the environment, you need to study the instructions for using the Granuflo contact fungicide.
Composition and release form of contact fungicide "Granuflo"
The main active ingredient of the drug is thiram, or TMTD. This is a representative of the dithiocarbamate class, a contact fungicide with protective properties. The Granuflo fungicide is produced in the form of water-dispersible granules, that is, they are granules for dissolution in water to form an active solution in the form of a suspension.
Operating principle and purposes of use
The fungicide "Granuflo" is characterized by the following principle of action:
- Penetration of the pathogen into cells.
- Inhibition of the activity of enzymes containing sulfhydryl groups or copper atoms.
- Exclusively contact action. The drug does not act against pathogens contained in plant tissues.
Granuflo fungicide is practically ineffective against bacteria that infect plants, so for a complex effect it can be mixed with compatible pesticides. The drug is active against pathogens from the class of oomycetes and some basidiomycetes. It remains on plants for up to 30-45 days. Plant protection lasts from a week to two. Its duration depends on the weather - in high humidity, the drug is washed off faster.
Consumption rate and instructions for use of the drug
The Granuflo pesticide is effective against fungal diseases of stone fruit and pome crops. This is a contact agent, so treatments must begin early, before obvious signs of the disease appear.
Drug rate | Processed crop | Plant disease | Treatment | Expectation and frequency of exposure |
2-3 | Cherry, plum, peach and other stone fruits | Moniliosis, klyasterosporiosis, curliness, rot during storage | The first is before flowering begins, then every 7-14 days. Consumption – thousand l/ha | Last treatment before harvest – 40 days, 3 treatments |
2-3 | Apple, pear, grapes and other pome trees | Moniliosis, scab, alternaria, powdery mildew, rot formed during fruit storage | The first is at the green cone stage, then every 7-14 days. The last treatment is 35 days before harvest.
Consumption of the prepared active solution – up to 1 thousand liters per hectare |
Waiting 35 days, 4 treatments per growing season |
The fungicide is compatible with most other preparations for the treatment and protection of plants, including mineral oils. It is not recommended to mix with copper-based preparations, as such a composition can cause black spots to appear on vegetative plants.
The suspension is prepared immediately before use and is not stored for more than a day. It is advisable to use the prepared drug immediately. Before use the next day, the composition must be shaken thoroughly.
The containers used to dissolve granules for suspension must be thoroughly washed after use, stored separately from other containers and not used for purposes other than creating active solutions for treating plants.
Precautions when working with the product
Fungicide "Granuflo" belongs to hazard class 3. This means that it falls into the group of moderately hazardous (moderately toxic) substances. A person working with this pesticide must follow classic safety rules:
- Do not eat, smoke or drink while working with the substance.
- Protect your face with a mask and your eyes with special glasses.
- Wear gloves.
- Wear closed clothing with long sleeves.
- After treatment, change clothes, wash your face and hands, and take a shower.
- Do not treat plants in windy weather or in direct sunlight.
- Remove pets and birds from the affected area.
"Granuflo" is low-toxic to pollinating insects and does not affect the surrounding entomological balance.
Compatibility with other substances
The drug exhibits good compatibility with various pesticides, including substances based on mineral oils. Be careful when mixing with copper fungicides as this may cause dark spots. However, this mixture is significantly effective in treating diseased plants.
Expiration date and storage rules
The shelf life of the drug is 2 years from the date of release. After this period is over, the use of Granuflo fungicide is not allowed; it loses its protective properties. Store Granuflo in a dry, shaded room at temperatures from -25 to +35 OC. The storage location must be inaccessible to children and pets, and the substance itself must be in labeled containers or in original labeled packaging.
Do not store fungicides near food, feed for domestic and farm animals, household chemicals, to avoid the substances getting in and causing harm to the health of people and animals.
What can be replaced?
Granuflo is inexpensive and available to everyone, but, if necessary, it can be replaced with the following drugs:
- "Tiram" or "TMTD".
- "Shooting Range."
- "Strobe."
- "Garden".
- "Delan."
- "Topsin-M".
- "Manfil" and many others.
Some of the listed drugs have a composition similar to Granuflo, others have different active substances, but they all have the same focus and are intended to destroy fungal infections of plants.
Fungicide "Granuflo" is currently the most powerful drug against scab and moniliosis of cultivated and ornamental plants.
