Today it is possible to reduce the time and effort required to remove weeds by using chemicals that effectively control these plants. Among the effective preparations, gardeners stand out the herbicide Lintur. It is designed to combat any weed, including perennial weeds. Composition and release form of the weed killer
The drug has 2 active components:
- Dicamba 659 g/kg as sodium salt.
- Triasulfuron 41 g/kg, which is part of the sulfonylurea class.
Dicamba is a growth regulator, and triasulfuron is able to inhibit the synthesis of amino acids required by weeds. These active elements pass through the root system and leaves of the weed. Due to the influence of the pesticide, the following are observed:
- suspension of growth;
- yellowness, necrosis of leaves, stems;
- death of weeds.
The herbicide is available in 1 kg packaging containing water-dispersible granules. Each package comes with a measuring cup.
Advantages of the herbicide
The advantages of the product include:
- protection of lawn grasses;
- wide range of effects - the drug can solve the problem of weeds that are difficult to eradicate. These include pigweed, acorn grass, chamomile, and thistle;
- due to soil action, long-lasting protection is ensured;
- efficiency;
- harvesting is quick, since there is no need to additionally clear weeds;
- Lintur has a low consumption rate;
- One spray is enough;
- the pesticide cannot be combined with other products;
- the product can be used in spring and autumn;
- does not pose a danger to people or animals;
- a modern type of high quality herbicide in convenient packaging.
How does the drug work?
The herbicide is used to control the growth of a wide range of annual and perennial dicotyledonous grass weeds, including 2,4-D-resistant types.
Lintur destroys both the above-ground part and the roots of weeds. The drug is less dependent on the weather during use.
Fast and effective action is observed due to the combination of 2 active elements.
Signs begin to appear on the 5-7th day, and absolute death occurs after 20 days, depending on the type of weed and weather. The protective barrier lasts about 8 weeks.
After herbicide spraying in the autumn of the current year, you can sow any crop with previous soil plowing to a depth of 15 cm. The pesticide has no contraindications for subsequent plants in crop rotation.
Consumption rates for different plants
How much of the drug is required in each specific case can be seen in the table.
Culture | Required consumption, kg/ha | Time and stage |
Winter wheat, rye | 0,12-0,18 | In autumn, spring, during the tillering period |
Winter barley | 0,12-0,18 | Autumn period, tillering |
Spring grain crops | 0,12-0,18 | Spring time, tillering |
Millet | 0,12-0,18 | Spring time, tillering period |
Meadow timothy (seed sowing) | 0,18 | Crops are processed in the year when the seeds are collected (spring), at the stage of crop growth |
Meadow timothy (cover crops, coverless crops) | 0,18 | Crops are sprayed at the tillering stage or with the appearance of 1-2 leaves, when the crops are coverless |
Red fescue, meadow bluegrass – cover, coverless sowing
Reedwort, festulolium |
0,18 | Crops are sprayed at the tillering stage of the cover plant or at the stage of 1-2 leaves, when the crop is coverless |
Lawn | 0,18 | Treatment takes place 4 days after mowing from May to June or from August to September |
How to prepare the working mixture?
To process 100 sq. m of lawn, you will need a 1.5 gram package. To prepare the solution, fill the tank ¼ full with water. Afterwards, the required dose is measured using a measuring cup and poured into the tank. The mixture is stirred well, then the rest of the water is poured into the tank.
Stirring continues during the treatment of the area to ensure uniformity of the working solution. When filling the sprayer tank, the filling hose is always placed above the water level. This is necessary to prevent reverse suction.
The mixture used must be applied within 24 hours.
How to use the product correctly?
The instructions for use prescribe the following rules for using the herbicide:
- Treatment is carried out when the weather is dry and windless and not earlier than 2-3 days after the lawn is mowed.
- Grain crops must be sprayed from the stage of 4 leaves until the end of the tillering stage of the plant, inclusive.
- Spraying is carried out in the mornings and evenings, when the wind speed is no more than 5 m/s, so that the pesticide is not blown onto plants growing nearby.
- It is recommended to spray the plants 2 times a season. The first time you need to do this is at the end of spring, the next time - at the end of summer. The optimal air temperature is 15-25 degrees.
There is no need to spray crops with the product if frosts are expected or after frosts. Do not use it on crops that are under stress, do not treat lawns where legumes are sown, and do not give cut grass to animals as feed.
It is important that the working solution does not get on neighboring plants. Also, do not spray lawns that are less than 6 months old.
Safety rules for use
The selective weed pesticide belongs to the 3rd hazard class, which means that it poses virtually no danger to humans or insects.
However, when using the drug, you need to follow the rules:
- Use personal protective equipment for the skin, eyes, and respiratory organs - long sleeves, rubber gloves, respirator, mask, goggles.
- Smoking, drinking, eating is prohibited.
- Treat areas only when the weather is calm.
- After spraying, wash your hands using detergent.
- The oral cavity is rinsed with clean water.
- If Lintur gets splashed on your skin, wash it with warm water and detergent. If the drug gets on the eye area, rinse them with plenty of water without covering them.
- Ingestion of the herbicide requires the use of activated carbon, and you should also try to induce vomiting.
Compatibility with other herbicides
The pesticide is compatible with other herbicides, but in each situation a compatibility test is necessary. Good compatibility of Lintur is recorded with Alto Super, Karate, Aktara. Tank solutions are often prepared from these products. The drug is not compatible with a growth regulator.
How to store the drug?
The drug should be stored in a dry place. The storage temperature range is from -10 to +35 degrees. The shelf life is 3 years.
