Infection of crops by pathogenic fungi often causes crop loss. Today, farmers have in their arsenal effective, safe means for the treatment and prevention of common diseases. The drug "Scalpel" is a fungicide with a wide spectrum of antimycotic activity, providing plants with long-term protection against infections without exhibiting phytotoxic properties.
Composition and release form of the fungicide
The active composition of the drug is represented by a compound of the triazole series - flutriafol, the amount of which is 250 grams per 1 liter of the total volume of the mixture. “Scalpel” is produced in the form of a concentrated suspension, packaged in plastic containers with screw caps of 5 liters.
The principle of action of the drug "Scalpel"
The drug acts systemically, penetrating plant tissues and rapidly spreading through the acropetal route. The flutriafol molecule geometrically corresponds to the center of the protein responsible for the assembly of ergosterol. The result of the interaction is a disruption of the synthesis of styrene in the cell membrane of the pathogen and suppression of the development of mycelium. Flutriafol also has a fumigation effect.
Fungicide "Scalpel" has a deep and persistent therapeutic and prophylactic effect, ensuring the death of fungi on diseased plants and long-term (up to 6 weeks) protection from primary and repeated contamination.
In what cases is it used?
The drug, active against aerogenic and soil infections, is used for antifungal treatment of wheat and barley plantings (spring and winter seedlings), as well as sugar beets.
“Scalpel” is used for the treatment and prevention of the following crop diseases:
- powdery mildew;
- rust;
- septoria;
- spotting;
- Fusarium head damage;
- rhynchosporiasis;
- cercospora;
- fomoz.
Therapeutic treatment is carried out at the first signs of plant infection, and preventive treatment is carried out in accordance with the growing season stage of a particular crop. The protective mechanism is formed 6-7 hours after using the Scalpel product.
Consumption rate
The fungicide is used according to the dosages recommended by the manufacturer, observing consumption rates and processing times.
Consumption rate of fungicide "Scalpel" for different crops:
Processing object | Drug dose, liter/hectare | Working solution standard, liter/hectare | Frequency of processing |
Wheat | 0,5 | up to 300 | 1-2 |
Barley | 0,5 | up to 300 | 1 |
Sugar beet | 0,25 | 300-400 | 1-2 |
The waiting period for planting sugar beets is 30 days, for grain crops – 40 days.
Instructions for use of fungicide
“Scalpel” is intended for treating plantings by spraying plants with freshly prepared aqueous dilution of a concentrated suspension. To prepare the working fluid, the required amount of fungicide is mixed with an equal volume of water. This initial dilution is then dissolved in a sprayer tank filled with a third of the total volume of water. Mixing thoroughly, add the remaining water to the tank.
Cereal crops are sprayed at the beginning of the heading stage, and in the case of application against fusarium head blight - during the heading period. Sugar beet plantings are sprayed when the first signs of infection appear. Repeated treatment is possible after 2 weeks.
"Scalpel" remains active in conditions of low air temperature (the lower threshold is +5 ° C). Resistance to atmospheric precipitation is established 2 hours after work.
Precautionary measures
The fungicide is classified as class 3 hazardous chemicals, which indicates a moderate degree of danger to human health.
When working with the drug, the following rules must be observed:
- restrict access of third parties and animals to the processing area and adjacent areas;
- use personal protective equipment (thick overalls, gloves, respirator, eye protection screen);
- exclude the possibility of direct contact of the fungicide with the skin and mucous membranes;
- carry out spraying in calm weather in the evening hours.
The minimum period for limiting the flight of bees is 6 hours. Mechanical sprayers are used for irrigation; aerial spraying is prohibited.
Storage rules
“Scalpel” should be stored in a tightly sealed original container, away from household items, food, and out of reach of children and animals. Containers with the drug are placed in a place protected from direct sunlight.
Best before date
3 years provided that the original packaging is intact.
