Not all farmers dare to raise geese. It’s no wonder. Birds require special housing conditions and high-quality feed at all stages of growth. In addition, geese need complex vitamin supplements, including B vitamins and Omega-3 acids. All this is in one product. But not everyone, even experienced livestock breeders, knows how to give fish oil to goslings in the right quantities.

Benefits of fish oil for birds
It is a natural source of many vitamins and microelements necessary for a growing and adult body. It looks like a transparent, slightly yellowish, oily substance. It has a specific fishy smell because it is prepared from the insides of sea creatures.
The poultry diet cannot do without this nutritional supplement. It is prescribed by veterinarians for chickens, chicks, ducks, geese, and turkeys. The supplement, when ingested by birds, helps the absorption of other vitamins and increases immunity to various diseases. In addition, it accelerates growth, muscle mass gain and has a beneficial effect on the circulatory system.
Chicks fed with fish oil do not suffer from rickets or osteomalacia. Survival rates increase dramatically. Poultry raised this way does not suffer from intestinal infections, allergies or anemia.
The substance is quickly absorbed, thanks to oxidation processes, and easily penetrates into cells. The additive is included in the diet mainly in the winter months, when birds do not have the opportunity to eat succulent food.
How and how much to give fish oil to geese
Geese for slaughter begin to be fed with a “fragrant” additive from about the second week. Start with a small volume - 0.3 ml per gosling, gradually increasing this value to 0.5 ml. Poultry farmers advise not to accustom geese to the additive.
In adults, it should be given every other week and completely eliminated in the summer, when the birds have enough greenery. The exception is geese from poultry farms, which live in enclosures permanently.
Fat is added to the feed so that it is distributed evenly. To achieve this, prepare a mash of grain or mixed feed with the addition of a small amount of warm water. The mixture is sold at a veterinary pharmacy, but if the poultry population is large, the purchase will cost a pretty penny. There are special preparations with fish oil - “Trivin” and “Tetravin”.They are more convenient to give, and the method is indicated in the instructions for the supplement.
Liquid feeding is offered to ganders a week before mating to improve performance. An adult will need 2-2.5 ml per day. With prolonged feeding, poultry meat begins to emit a fishy smell, so 7-10 days before slaughter, the vitamin mixture is excluded from the geese’s diet.
