Many insects damage agricultural crops; without treatment, it is usually impossible to harvest a good harvest. Insecticides are used to kill pests. Let's consider the area of use, principle of action, composition of "Fastak", its pros and cons, instructions for use. What products are it compatible with, how is it stored, what insecticides can be replaced.
Composition and dosage form of the product
The manufacturer of Fastak, the company BASF, produces a product with the active substance alpha-cypermethrin (pyrethroids) in an amount of 100 g per liter. Preparative form – emulsion concentrate. "Fastak" acts intestinal and contact. The drug is bottled in 5 liter canisters, there are 4 canisters in the package.
Area of use
Wheat and barley, beets, peas, rapeseed, potatoes, alfalfa, grapes and apple trees, pastures are treated with the drug “Fastak” against a complex of pests. "Fastak" can destroy bedbugs, flea beetles, aphids, thrips, leopards, leafhoppers, flies, grain moths, moths, flower beetles, beetles, weevils, leaf rollers, and locusts.
Mechanism of action
Alpha-cypermethrin from Fastak acts on the central nervous system of insects and disrupts the functioning of the system. This leads to strong excitation of the system, and then to paralysis and, as a result, to the death of pests.
Advantages and disadvantages
"Fastak" has the following advantages:
- works against almost all common pests;
- instant impact;
- effective in hot weather;
- destructive to pests at all stages;
- is not washed off by irrigation water and rain;
- low consumption;
- not phytotoxic.
Cons of "Fastak": moderately toxic to people, highly toxic to bees.
Instructions for use of the drug
The working insecticidal solution "Fastaka" is prepared on the day of use, the volume must be consumed within 1 day. Preparation is standard - in a tank, in the usual way: fill the container 1/3, pour in a dose of the drug, add water to the required level, close the tank, stir 3-4 times. The solution is ready.
Spraying is carried out during the growing season, alfalfa - during the period of throwing out buds, pastures - during the development of locust larvae.
Application rates of "Fastak", in l per hectare:
- wheat from the turtle bug – 0.1-0.15;
- barley, beets and peas – 0.1;
- rapeseed – 0.1-0.15;
- potatoes – 0.07-0.1;
- alfalfa – 0.15-0.2;
- grapes – 0.24-0.36;
- apple trees and pastures – 0.2-0.3.
Consumption per hectare of vineyards - 600-1000 l, apple orchards - 1000-1500 l, other crops and pastures - 200-400 l. 1 or 2 sprayings are carried out (with a break of a week and a half), the waiting period for rapeseed, grapes and apple trees is 1 month, for others - 20 days.
Safety precautions
“Fastak” is classified as an agricultural product with hazard class 2 for humans and 1 for bees. Based on this, the drug cannot be used in areas of water bodies, near fish farms. Not suitable for spraying gardens when trees are in bloom, as there is a high probability of bees dying. The distance to the apiaries must be at least 5 km.
To protect yourself from toxic exposure, you need to put on protective clothing before work: wear a long-sleeved shirt on top, cover your legs with clothes. Protect your face with a respirator, wear goggles, and wear thick rubber gloves on your hands.
If the solution does get on your body or in your eyes, you should immediately rinse the area with running water until the irritating effect disappears. If the solution accidentally gets into the stomach, you need to do a rinse: drink 6 or 7 tablets of medicinal charcoal, wash down the medicine with 1 liter of water. After 15 minutes, induce vomiting. If the condition does not return to normal, you should seek medical help.There is no need to drink a soda solution if you are poisoned with Fastak; gastric juice will have time to neutralize it before the solution neutralizes the drug.
Compatibility of "Fastak" with other substances
"Fastak" is compatible with pesticides, with the exception of those that have an alkaline reaction. Do not mix with soda, lime, or products containing copper. Since the manufacturer does not indicate a list of drugs approved for joint use, you need to do a little testing: pour 50 ml of the working solution from both products into a container, leave the mixture for 1 hour. If over time there are no signs of a chemical reaction occurring, the pesticides are considered compatible.
If obvious signs of a reaction appear, such as changes in temperature, color, structure and consistency, it is necessary to select other components of the mixture. You cannot mix the preparations; the solution will not perform its functions and may even be harmful to plants.
Rules for storing funds
“Fastak,” as the manufacturer indicates, is stored for 3 years, like most pesticides. Storage rules: dry, dark, well-ventilated room, at above-zero temperatures. Conventional warehouses for storing fertilizers and agricultural products are suitable for saving. You cannot put food, medicine, household products, or livestock feed in them next to the insecticide. Make sure that children or animals cannot enter the warehouse.
After 3 years of storage, there is no point in saving Fastak. Its effectiveness decreases sharply, so the remnants need to be removed and a new drug purchased. The solution, like most pesticides, should be stored for only 1 day. Then pour it out due to ineffectiveness.
Insecticide analogues
In agriculture, you can replace “Fastak” with products containing alpha-cypermethrin: “Accord”, “Alfas”, “Alfashance”, “Alfa Ring”, “Armin”, “Ivango”, “Alphaplan”, “Alfa_Tsipi”, “Alfabel” ", "Alfatsin", "Alter", "Altair", "Bassoon", "Espero", "Piquet", "Image Plus", "Caesar", "Fassance", "Ci-Alpha", "Atrix", " Fatrin", "Biface", "Fascord", "Borey Neo", "Zeppelin", "Batrider", "Tsunami" and "Carifend".
The following substitutes are suitable for private households: “Neofral”, “Alfatsin”, “Ci-Alpha”, “Alfashance”, “Tsunami”, “Zhukoed”, “Pinotsid”, “Accord”, “Fatrin”, “Ivanhoe”.
The pesticide "Fastak" is known among summer residents, private farm owners and small farmers. There are many reasons for this. It has an effective active ingredient; in the soil it quickly disintegrates into harmless stable compounds. The doses of the Fastak insecticide for treating plants are insignificant, so it can be considered harmless to them. The product is used sparingly, so it will be beneficial for use in any farm, both small and large. The insecticide kills many types of pests, so it can be purchased in the spring and kept throughout the season to be used when needed. It is stored for a long time and, if measures are taken to ensure reliable storage conditions for the drug, the canister will last for 2-3 years. Purchasing a large volume is beneficial for owners of large plots and farmers.
