Insecticides are used to treat agricultural crops against many types of pests. Let's consider the purpose of the Mavrik insecticide, its composition, and mechanism of action. How to prepare the solution correctly, how to use it, what precautions to take. What agrochemicals can Mavrik be combined with, how and for how long should it be stored, and what can it be replaced with.
Composition and formulation of the insecticide
"Mavrik" is produced by the company "Adama Rus" in the form of an aqueous emulsion.The composition contains the active substance tau-fluvalinate in the amount of 240 g per 1 liter. According to the method of penetration, the drug belongs to intestinal and contact pesticides. The liquid is packaged in 1 liter plastic bottles.
It is an insecticidal and acaricidal agent from the class of pyrethroids. It has a quick action and long-lasting protective effect. Not dangerous for beneficial insects and bees. On harmful ones it has a double effect - contact and intestinal. "Mavrik" is effective even at high air temperatures (up to 30 ° C).
Mechanism of action and purpose
The active substance “Mavrika” enters the body of pests with food, through breathing and through the integument. Disturbs the functioning of the central nervous system, causing paralysis. The drug can fight Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Homoptera and Orthoptera, bedbugs and ticks.
Akaroinsecticide "Mavrik" is intended for the destruction of harmful insects and mites on fruit, vegetable, grain crops, flax, grapes and pasture plants. In agriculture, the insecticide is used for protective treatment of gardens, fields with vegetable and grain plants, and vineyards.
You can notice the effect of the drug within 30 minutes after treatment. The duration of protection is 2-3 weeks, during this period pests do not appear.
How to prepare the working substance?
The solution of the drug must be prepared in the same way as solutions of other pesticides. To do this, you first need to dilute the entire volume of the emulsion in 1/3 or 1/2 of the required volume of water. Stir to form a homogeneous concentration. Then pour the liquid into the sprayer tank and add the remaining water into it. Mix again. Standard sprayers, which are used to process most agricultural plants, are suitable for processing.
The volume of the insecticide solution must be such that it can be used all in 1 working day, because the solution cannot be stored. The remainder after work should be poured onto the ground, which is not used for cultivating plants.
How to use the product
Against pests, spraying with an insecticide is carried out throughout the entire growing season of the crop, against locusts - during the development of the larvae. When processing wild plants during the current season, you cannot collect wild berries and mushrooms.
Application rates (in l per ha):
- apple tree – 0.8-1.6 from codling moth and 0.6-1.2 from mites;
- grapes – 0.24-0.36;
- potatoes and pastures – 0.1;
- wheat, barley, rapeseed – 0.2;
- flax – 0.1-0.2.
The peculiarity of “Mavrik” is that it can be used when the crop is in its flowering period. However, it does not have a negative effect on bees and other honey-bearing insects. According to the instructions, it has low toxicity for bees and is recognized as non-toxic for these insects if used in recommended doses. It is even used to kill varroa mites in beehives.
You can treat with Mavrik in cool weather and hot weather; its effectiveness does not decrease with temperature changes. The product is not washed off by rain, so re-treatment in case of rain is not required.
Precautions for use
The insecticide belongs to agricultural products with hazard class 3, both for humans and bees.It is toxic to aquatic organisms, so it cannot be used in fields, orchards and vineyards located near water bodies. It is allowed to treat fields and gardens with insecticide using the aerial method.
Despite the low toxicity of the insecticide, you only need to wear protective clothing when working with its solution and when spraying trees, bushes and annual plants. Clothing must cover all exposed areas of the body. Wear gloves on your hands, a respirator and plastic goggles on your face. Safety devices must be in place at all times during operation. After finishing spraying with insecticide, you need to wash your face and hands with soap. If symptoms of poisoning are detected, you need to take action: drink warm water, take activated carbon tablets. If such methods of combating intoxication do not help, consult a doctor immediately.
Compatibility with other substances
"Mavrik" goes well with agricultural products. It can be added to tank mixes, but unless compatibility is stated, you should always check it yourself. To do this, before mixing the drugs in the tank, mix a small amount in a separate container. If no reaction occurs, you can combine both agents.
Storage periods and rules
"Mavrik" can be stored for 3 years in a row, starting from the date of production. After expiration of the shelf life, the drug should be disposed of. It significantly loses its properties. Store the insecticide solution for 1 day, after which it is ineffective. Storage conditions: dry and dark warehouse, at positive temperatures.
What can be replaced?
The drug Mavrik has no analogues for tau-fluvalinate.
"Mavrik" is a universal insectoacaricidal drug that can be used in gardens, fields, pastures, vineyards, potato and cereal plantings, flax to protect them from insect pests. The product is low toxic to humans and beneficial insects. Works in any weather, so you can treat plants with insecticide when needed, regardless of weather conditions.
