Coccidiosis is a dangerous and very common disease of rabbits, which often ends in their death. Both young and old animals can get sick at any time of the year. If sick rabbits are not treated, most of them die, especially young animals. To treat and prevent the spread of coccidiosis, coccidiostats are used, for example, Solikox. Let's look at how to use Solikox for rabbits according to the instructions for use.
Why do rabbits need Solikoks?
Rabbits do not enjoy good health, often get sick, and are highly susceptible to infections. Dangerous infectious diseases, including coccidiosis, can destroy a significant part of the rabbit population in a short time. As a result, the owner of the rabbit farm suffers heavy losses.
The causative agent of coccidiosis is coccidia of several species that parasitize the liver and intestines of rabbits. The disease mainly affects young animals from 3-4 months old; adult animals tolerate the disease more easily or are only carriers of the protozoa.
Coccidia are excreted from the body of sick animals along with feces in the form of oocysts. They have a dense shell, they are resistant to external influences, disinfectants, and only high temperature kills them. Thus, caged animals are constantly exposed to infection.
“Solicox” is one of the effective coccidiostatics; it can be used both for treatment and for preventing the development of the disease.
Composition, release form and principle of action of the drug
"Solikoks" is a liquid preparation of a transparent, light yellowish color, intended for administration into the digestive tract. The active ingredient - diclazuril (2.5 ml per 1 ml of product) kills coccidia of all types that parasitize the body of rabbits.
Diclazuril is low-toxic, gives a therapeutic result even in small doses, and even when the substance is exceeded by 25-50 times, it does not produce side effects. Does not cause mutations or cell degeneration. It does not affect embryos, so it can be given to pregnant females.
"Solikoks" can be used simultaneously with other coccidiostats, any antibiotic agents, and feed additives.Diclazuril does not remain in the tissues, as indicated in the instructions; rabbits can be slaughtered within 5 days after soldering.
