The drug contains the following components:
- wormwood, which was collected in 2 approaches - at the growing season and during flowering;
- pine buds;
- water.
In appearance, the substance is a brown liquid with a pronounced aroma and bitter taste.

"CAS-81" is used to treat weakened and worn-out swarms. This substance stimulates egg laying and has immunomodulatory properties.
The drug, prepared according to the classic recipe, produces a long-lasting effect. It acts on the mite until the bees spend all the carbohydrate food.
When processing food, bees absorb it. At the same time, ticks eat the hemolymph of insects. "CAS-81" penetrates the hemolymph and leads to the destruction of parasites. The product also helps to avoid outbreaks of nosematosis.
In addition to the therapeutic effect, the product ensures the early spring development of the bee colony. When the composition is applied in the spring, the productivity of the queen bee increases by 35%. Systematic use of "CAS-81" helps to minimize the risk of parasites by 95%.
Instructions for use for bees
The homemade recipe includes the following components:
- 50 grams of pine buds;
- 50 grams of bitter wormwood, cut during the growing season;
- 900 grams of wormwood, collected during the flowering period.
To make “CAS-81” yourself, it is recommended to do the following:
- Prepare dead wood, remove debris, chop and measure the exact amount.
- Place the plant collection in an enamel container, add 10 liters of soft distilled or rain water. Boil the medicine over low heat for 3 hours.
- Leave the prepared solution for 8 hours. This must be done indoors at a temperature of more than +20 degrees.
- Prepare sugar syrup. It can be made from water and sugar or honey. The components must be mixed in a ratio of 1.5:1.
- Mix the herbal decoction with sugar syrup. For 1 liter of syrup you will need 35 milliliters of decoction.
The finished mixture has a dark color and a pronounced wormwood aroma. It is important to note that it cannot be used after it has cooled. The required amount of composition is determined taking into account the size of the apiary.
"CAS-81" is recommended for pre-winter feeding of bees. The best option is mid-August. Experienced beekeepers recommend applying the product in several passes, 6 liters each. The dose is determined by the size of the bee colony.
Also, a medicinal solution with syrup can be used in the spring. It is introduced immediately after the cleansing flight. This is due to the intensive growth of young animals during this period.
The need for systematic feeding of a bee colony is associated with the following features:
- Mites often settle in unopened brood. When young animals appear, there is a risk of mass infection.
- "CAS-81" has a beneficial effect on the life of bees.
- The uterus senses the presence of food. Due to this, its egg production increases.
To give bees "CAS-81", you can use the following methods:
- Pour the liquid into bags and place on the top tier of the hive.

- Add the product to dough-like fertilizers that are used at the end of winter.

Storage periods and rules
The finished preparation “CAS-81” cannot be stored, since phytoncides, essential oils and other useful elements evaporate from it. The composition must be prepared immediately before use.
It is recommended to keep the harvested raw materials in paper or fabric bags. This should be done in a dry and well-ventilated area for a maximum of 1 year.
