Organic farming is gaining more and more supporters and admirers. To improve soil health and increase productivity, biofertilizers are used. “Nitragin” is used for pre-sowing treatment of legume seeds. It is the beneficial bacteria contained in the preparation that increase soil fertility, improve nutrition and overall development of plants.
Composition and release form of the bacterial preparation
“Nitragin” is produced in liquid form, packaged in containers of 2, 3, 4 liters. The drug belongs to bacterial fertilizers, but does not contain standard nutrients.The active elements are soil microorganisms, which, when released into the soil, help improve the nutrition of the root system of plants and enhance biochemical processes.
According to the standard, 1 g of the product contains nodule bacteria that promote the development of lupine, soybeans, peanuts (approximately 70 million cells) and other legumes (approximately 300 million cells).
Mechanism and area of use
The bacterial preparation “Nitragin” is a fertilizer for legumes. The essence of the action of bacteria: penetrating into the root hairs of plants, the cells secrete a mucous substance that stretches into peculiar threads. Thanks to these infection threads, bacteria go deeper into the roots and multiply intensively. At the same time, special nodules form on the roots. Developing in nodules, bacteria bind atmospheric nitrogen, facilitating its effective absorption by plants.
Advantages of bacterial fertilizer:
- promotes the accumulation of nitrogen in the soil;
- the protein content in the crop increases;
- nitrogen is evenly distributed in all phases of plant development;
- the productivity of legume plants increases.
The main advantage is that bacterial fertilizers are an environmentally friendly alternative to mineral nitrogen supplements.
Instructions for using fertilizer
When using and preparing a working solution of a biological product, it is important to adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations:
- the required part of the product is diluted with a small amount of water at room temperature;
- the spraying tank is filled one third with water and the fertilizer solution is poured in, stirring constantly;
- The container is completely filled with water.
A small amount of seeds can be sprayed by mixing by hand. It is advisable to process a significant volume of seed material in special machines for treating seeds.It is recommended to prepare the working solution directly on the day of sowing or the day before (but no later than one day before sowing).
Precautionary measures
When using Nitragin, the biological product and seed should not be exposed to sunlight. Therefore, it is recommended to process seeds indoors or in covered areas. It is advisable to cover the seed material with a tarpaulin during transportation.
Storage rules
To store bacterial fertilizer, you need to allocate a dry, well-ventilated room. Recommended temperature range: from 1-2 °C to 10 °C, freezing and thawing of the fertilizer is not allowed. The biological product also loses its beneficial qualities at air temperatures above 30 °C.
Nitragin should not be stored in a room with volatile pesticides (formalin or others). The beneficial qualities of Nitragin are preserved for 9 months from the date of manufacture.
Are there any analogues?
Manufacturers of biofertilizers produce a wide range of preparations intended for processing seed material of legumes. The following tools are popular:
- "Rhizofos" - serves as an excellent replacement for nitrogen and phosphorus mineral fertilizers, helps provide legumes with phosphorus and nitrogen;
- "Rizotorfin" is produced on the basis of sterile peat. Plants retain the ability to obtain nitrogen from the air throughout the entire growing season thanks to pre-sowing seed treatment.
Bacterial fertilizers can be used for pre-sowing treatment of seeds; Preparations are also directly applied to the soil. As a rule, the effectiveness of products increases when they are combined with organic fertilizers or mineral additives.
The use of biofertilizers allows you to harvest environmentally friendly vegetables from the plot. Thanks to the regular use of preparations containing soil microorganisms, it is possible to improve and restore even poor soils.
