Plant diseases delay the development of vegetable and garden crops and reduce yields. Therefore, a summer resident needs to know what means to fight pathogenic microorganisms that have a negative effect on the growth of crops, destroying them. Among fungicides, "Acrobat", the instructions for use of which are often used by gardeners, occupies a leading place.
Composition and release form "Acrobat MC"
Pesticide manufacturer BASF has released a drug whose main components actively fight pathogens, penetrating and disrupting the biochemical processes of the microorganism. The group of dithiocarbamates is represented by the substance mancozeb. There are 600 grams of it in the preparation per kilogram of product.
In combination with mancozeb in Acrobat, the active substance is dimethomorph (90 grams/kg), which belongs to the chemical group of morpholines. The phenalamid derivative changes the development cycle of the pathogenic fungus.
The preparative form of the fungicide is water-dispersible granules. When dissolved, a homogeneous suspension is obtained.
The granules are packaged in bags of 1 kilogram, bags - 10 kilograms.
Mechanism of action
The combination of 2 components leads to the death of fungi and spores, stopping the subsequent reproduction of microorganisms. After treatment, the active substances penetrate into the plant cells and also remain on the surface.
The substance mancozeb from the group of dithiocarbamites inhibits the activity of enzymes inside microorganisms. As a result, their breathing becomes difficult and the most important redox processes stop.
The toxic effect of the substance is associated with disruption and metabolism of biogenic amino acids.
Dimetamorph penetrates the cell membranes of the pathogen, preventing the formation of mycelium, disrupting the development cycle of the microorganism. At the same time, new populations of fungi resistant to morpholines form more slowly.
Advantages over analogues
The advantages of the fungicide "Acrobat MC" include the fact that it acts:
- as a preventive and therapeutic agent;
- not allowing new disputes to form;
- without poisoning the environment, insects, or humans;
- effective in combination with other fungicidal drugs.
There are no restrictions on the use of granules.Although there are more effective analogues, they quickly become addictive. Resistance to Acrobat develops more slowly in fungi.
Preparation of the working solution and its use
Choose clear, windless weather for processing plants. This will allow the solution to spread evenly on the leaves and stems, protecting them from fungi.
In a special container, dissolve 20 grams of the product in 5 liters of water. By using the drug at the beginning of the season, they create protection for potatoes, tomatoes, and grapes from fungal infections.
Grape processing
Vine plantings must be treated with a mildew preparation three times per season. The break between sprayings is 20 days.
Potato
Spraying with fungicide is carried out for preventive purposes. But the appearance of signs of late blight and Alternaria requires treatment with Acrobat. Three sprayings with a break of 15-20 days are required.
Tomatoes
During the growing season, tomatoes must be processed three times. For 100 square meters you will need 4 liters of working solution. After spraying, it is not advisable to work with the plants.
cucumbers
Cucumber beds should also be protected from downy mildew with the drug “Acrobat”. The working solution is sprayed on plants in clear weather in the morning or evening in the absence of wind. The frequency of spraying is 3-5 times.
Toxicity of the drug, safety precautions
The drug "Acrobat MC" belongs to the 2nd class of danger to humans. This means that you need to spray it, prepare the working fluid in a respiratory mask, work clothes, protecting your hands with rubber gloves and your eyes with goggles.
After handling, you should wash your hands with soap, take a shower, and rinse your mouth.
The last spraying is carried out 1.5 months before harvest. And after spraying, you cannot work in the garden for 10-15 days.
The drug is low-hazard for bees, but it is better to use it when the insects’ life span is limited. The fungicide does not harm earthworms.
Is it compatible with other products?
You can determine the compatibility of the drug “Acrobat” with other fungicides and insecticides yourself. To do this, a small amount of granules is mixed with other drugs and stirred. If the sediment does not dissolve, then the products cannot be used together.
Shelf life and storage conditions
To store granules, use a special room inaccessible to pets and children. The container must be tightly closed. When the substance combines with oxygen, an explosion can occur. The room temperature should not be higher than 20 degrees.
The fungicide has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of release.
