Manufacturers of chemicals used to protect plants from diseases and insects are constantly developing new products to prevent pathogens from developing resistance to their effects. Eminent, a new generation fungicide, has many advantages over old-style preparations, thanks to which farmers prefer it, despite its rather high cost. Before using the chemical, it is important to read the instructions.
Active ingredients and release form
The new generation fungicidal drug contains a single active ingredient called tetraconazole from the chemical class of triazoles. In 1 liter of a chemical, its concentration is 125 grams.
Eminent is produced by Sumiagro in the form of an aqueous solution, which is bottled in 5-liter plastic canisters.
How does Eminent work?
The active substance of the fungicidal drug is characterized by high penetrating ability, due to which it is instantly absorbed by the tissues of cultivated plants after treatment and is distributed evenly over all parts, without concentrating in any one place. The principle of the destructive effect on pathogenic microorganisms is to block a substance called ergosterol, which is responsible for the basic life processes of the fungal pathogen.
Since the active component of the chemical does not have a negative effect on the growth and development of the cultivated plant, it can be used at any time of the growing season.
Purposes of using a fungicide
The drug "Eminent" was developed for the treatment and prevention of diseases affecting wheat and sugar beet crops. It effectively destroys pathogens of diseases such as powdery mildew, septoria, brown and yellow rust, cercospora and fomoz.
Of the undeniable advantages of the new generation drug, farmers highlight:
- no negative impact on beneficial microorganisms living in the soil;
- high penetrating ability;
- no emergence of resistance after the use of a chemical;
- lack of influence on the vital processes of cultivated plants;
- the ability to use contact fungicides and complement their action;
- low toxicity and danger to humans and animals;
- long period of protective action - about a month;
- possibility of use for both treatment and prevention of diseases;
- uniform distribution of the active substance throughout all tissues of the culture.
The only disadvantage of the drug is its rather high cost.
Consumption rate of the drug
The instructions for use indicate the application rates of the fungicidal preparation for each crop plant and the preferred time for spraying the fields.
cultivated plant | The causative agent of the disease | Preparation rate/working fluid consumption |
Sugar beet | Powdery mildew, cercospora and fomoz | From 0.75 to 0.8 liters/400 liters per hectare of field. |
Winter and spring wheat | · pyrenophorosis, septoporiosis;
· yellow and brown rust, powdery mildew. |
· from 0.8 to 1 liter of the drug/from 300 to 400 liters per hectare of plantings;
· from 0.6 to 0.8 liters/300 to 400 liters per hectare of field. |
Wheat plantings are processed when the crop is at the booting stage, and sugar beets - throughout the entire growing season.
Instructions for use of the product "Eminent"
The working solution is prepared immediately before the start of the planned treatment so that it does not lose its effectiveness. Pour half the amount of water into the sprayer tank and add the amount of fungicide specified in the instructions, mix until smooth.After this, add the remaining water and mix thoroughly again.
It is recommended to carry out treatment in dry weather, with minimal wind speed, early in the morning or after sunset.
Precautionary measures
The fungicidal drug belongs to the 3rd class of toxicity for humans and animals, that is, to moderately dangerous substances. When working with chemicals, you will need to follow basic safety rules. The body is protected with overalls, gloves are put on hands, and a respirator or mask is also used.
Storage of the drug
The shelf life of the chemical product is 3 years from the date of production, provided that the original packaging is intact and storage rules are followed. Keep the fungicide in a dark and dry utility room, where children and pets have no access.
Analogs
There is no complete analogue of the fungicide. If necessary, select a drug with a similar effect, in which one of the active substances is tetraconazole, for example, Yamato.
