Composition and release form of the fungicide "Revus Top"
This is a unique drug.It contains two substances that destroy the fungus: mandipropamide and difenoconazole. "Revus Top" is produced in the form of a suspension concentrate, poured into 5 liter plastic containers.
Active substance | Concentration (%) | Action |
Mandipropamide | 25 | Blocks sporulation, inhibits lipid synthesis, prevents spores from germinating |
Difenoconazole | 25 | Interferes with sporulation, prevents mycelium growth |
Advantages and disadvantages
The disadvantage of the drug "Revus" is that it kills only those fungi that cause peronospora and late blight in some vegetable crops. The advantages can be listed for a long time, of which the most relevant are:
- "Revus" can be included in tank mixtures; it is compatible with insecticides and other fungicides;
- precipitation does not affect the duration of the protective effect;
- increases the keeping quality of potatoes;
- quickly penetrates the plant tissue and destroys the fungus within 7-14 days;
- reduces crop losses.
When used frequently, the substances that make up Revus Top accumulate in the soil and suppress the activity of beneficial soil bacteria. This should be remembered when applying a fungicide, follow the recommended standards, and do not exceed the number of treatments indicated in the instructions.
Mechanism of action and scope of application
The drug is used to treat potato tops, tomato bushes and onions against lower oomycete fungi that cause late blight and peronosporosis. The fungicide protects vegetables from fungal diseases, is quickly absorbed into the leaves, and migrates throughout all parts of the plant.
In places where pathogens accumulate, the fungicide begins to act:
- interferes with lipid synthesis;
- inhibits the growth of mycelium;
- prevents spores from germinating;
- prevents reproduction.
"Revus" has translaminar activity and acts differently than contact and systemic fungicides. It quickly penetrates into the wax film, which is located on the surface of the leaf plates, so it is not washed off with water when watering (rain).
Period of protective action and speed of exposure
The antifungal effect begins after 2-3 hours and lasts 1-2 weeks. The active substance of the drug (mandipropamide) penetrates the newly emerged leaves, protecting the new growth.
The fungicide is not afraid of rain, even if only 1 hour has passed since spraying.
The waxy layer of plants absorbs the solution, this ensures high rain resistance of the Revus preparation and its effectiveness in heavy and frequent rainfall. The decay period of the active substances is 5-15 days, after which the vegetables can be eaten.
How to properly prepare a working solution
To prepare the working solution you need a sprayer with a stirrer. The fungicide is added to the tank at the following rate:
- water - 10 l;
- "Revus Top" - 10-12 ml.
The working solution is mixed during processing and consumed immediately after preparation.
Instructions for use of the fungicide "Revus Top"
The entire solution must be used within a day. The table shows consumption rates for each vegetable crop.
Culture | Number of treatments | Waiting period (days) | Working fluid consumption per 1 hundred square meters (l) | Application diagram |
Onion | 2 | 15 | 10 | 1st time when the feather length is 7-10cm |
2nd time after 7-14 days | ||||
Potato | 4 | 5 | 5 | 1st time before the tops close |
Tomatoes in open ground | 4 | 5 | 5 | 1st time 10 days after planting in the ground, all subsequent times at intervals of 7-14 days |
The effect of treatment is higher if it is carried out in the morning on dry leaves.
Precautions during operation
Work in normal work clothes that cover as much skin as possible. Use a hat, glasses, latex gloves, and a respirator. When finished, treat all personal protective equipment with baking soda solution and rinse.
Toxicity
The fungicide can be used near bodies of water. It is not dangerous for organisms living in water. Revus Top is harmless to people, pets, birds and insects.
Compatibility with other pesticides
The fungicide has good compatibility with chemicals that summer residents and agricultural enterprises use against pests and weeds. Before preparing the tank mixture in full, a mandatory test is carried out.
The drugs are incompatible if the solution becomes cloudy or a precipitate appears. To protect plantings from Alternaria and late blight, the following is added to the tank mixture:
- "Revus Top";
- "Skor";
- CE.
Storage periods and rules
Fungicide "Revus" is stored in a utility room where there is no drinking water or food products. Children and pets are prohibited from entering the storage facility. Empty drug containers must be burned. The product can be stored for no more than 3 years.
Fungicide analogues
The Revus Top fungicide is produced by Syngenta. To protect vegetable crops from fungal infections, she has drugs:
- "Ridomil Gold";
- "Quadris".
“Quadris” protects against all dangerous diseases and prolongs the fruiting period. "Ridomil Gold" is used during the active growing season, it improves the keeping quality of potatoes.
