The manufacturer of Clipper, CJSC FMRus, produces the drug in the form of a concentrated emulsion, with the active substance bifenthrin in a volume of 100 g per 1 liter. How the product works
Bifenthrin paralyzes insects by entering their body through the integument when the solution comes into contact with them or through the stomach. The advantage of the drug is that it acts not only on larvae and adult insects, but also on eggs. It also works as a repellent.
What is it used for?
“Clipper” is used in agriculture for processing tomatoes and cucumbers growing in greenhouses. Destroys whiteflies, spider mites and aphids. Also used on apple trees, cotton and grapes against ticks, grains - against bread ground beetles and turtle bugs. Able to protect plants for 2-3 weeks. The effect of the drug begins to manifest itself after 3-4 hours, maximum effectiveness can be observed after 2-3 days.
Instructions for use
Greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers are processed during the growing season. Dosage rates for “Clipper” according to the manufacturer’s instructions (in l per ha):
- from whitefly – 1.2-2.4;
- from ticks – 0.6-1.2;
- from aphids – 0.4-0.8.
Since the insecticide is capable of destroying insect eggs, only 1 treatment can be carried out to kill the entire population. Liquid consumption when spraying is 1000-3000 l per ha. Clipper has a short waiting period - 3 days for tomatoes and 5 days for cucumbers. People are allowed to leave for work after 3 days.
Safety precautions when working with the drug
“Clipper” insecticide belongs to products with toxicity class 2. It is toxic to bees - class 1.It cannot be used during the mass flight of these insects. It is also toxic to fish and aquatic organisms, so its use is prohibited in areas located near water bodies and fish farms. Does not bind in the soil and does not enter groundwater.
Those working with the emulsion and solution should wear thick clothing to cover all exposed parts of the body. A prerequisite is a respirator and plastic goggles to protect against splashes getting into the respiratory tract and eyes.
If the solution gets inside, you must rinse your stomach yourself: drink a few tablets of medicinal charcoal and wash them down with 1 liter of water. After 15 minutes you need to induce vomiting. If symptoms of severe poisoning appear, you should seek medical help.
Compatibility of Clipper with other substances
This insecticide can be mixed for joint treatment of plants with most drugs with insecticidal and fungicidal effects that have a neutral reaction.
If you need to mix Clipper with a drug whose general compatibility is unknown, you need to conduct a test: combine a certain amount of drugs in one container and check the resulting reaction.
If a violent reaction does not occur, there is no noticeable increase in the temperature of the solution, no change in color, or precipitation, then they can be mixed. If an undesirable reaction of substances occurs, do not mix the drugs; such a solution will not only not benefit the plants, but can also be harmful.
Terms and conditions of storage
“Clipper” can be stored in warehouses with low humidity and light, and temperatures from -12 °C to +35 °C. Store liquid only in original canisters with tightly closed lids. Do not place near food, medicines, or pet food. Avoid contact of the product with children and animals. Together with the insecticide, you can save any agrochemical pesticides and fertilizers.
After the expiration of the storage period, the Clipper insecticide must be replaced with a new one; the prepared solution should be stored for no more than 1 day. In order not to waste the drug, you need to prepare the solution only in the volume that is necessary for work for 1 day.
Analogues of the product
In agriculture, several drugs are used with the same active substance as Clipper: “Zernospas”, “Semaphore”, “Vulcan”, “Pirinex Super", "Talstar", "Prokrop", "Imidalit". Not used on private farms.
