Treating vegetable and fruit crops against pests has long become a mandatory agrotechnical practice. Let's consider the principle of action and purpose of the Match insecticide, its composition and active ingredient, how to use the drug according to the instructions, how to dilute and use the solution. How to work with the safety product, what to combine it with in tank mixtures, how and where to store it, what it can be replaced with.
Composition and release form
The formula of the “Match” insecticide includes the active substance lufenuron of the benzamide class in an amount of 50 g per 1 liter. The drug is produced by Syngenta in the form of an emulsion concentrate in 1 liter bottles and 5 liter canisters, the packaging consists of 12 bottles or 4 canisters.
Spectrum and mechanism of action
The drug has a predominantly intestinal effect, the contact effect is moderate. Destroys the larvae of Orthoptera, Lepidoptera and Coleoptera insects.
Lufenuron stops the synthesis of chitin in insect larvae, which is why after molting they do not form a new cover, the larvae cannot move to an older age and die during the molting period. The drug also prevents the emergence of larvae from eggs and reduces the fertility of female insects in subsequent generations. It has no effect on adults of harmful insects.
“Match” is effective in treating insects that are resistant to pyrethroids, carbamates and organophosphorus pesticides. When used within the recommended time frame, it protects fruits from spoilage and is highly effective due to its atypical mechanism of action. Does not lose effectiveness at high temperatures and is resistant to rain. Non-toxic to beneficial insects, predatory mites and dipterans, and to plants. Duration of protection is at least 28 days after treatment.
Rules for using the insecticide “Match”
According to the instructions, the application rate for potatoes is 0.3 liters per hectare, consumption is 200-400 liters per hectare.Treat once during mass laying of eggs by insects, waiting period - 2 weeks. Pasture and wild vegetation from locust species is sprayed with larvae of 1-2 instars. Liquid concentration – 0.15 l per ha, consumption – 200-400 l per ha. You can pick berries and mushrooms from the plots only a month after spraying.
Bollworm tomatoes are also treated when the insects lay eggs. 2 treatments are carried out, 200-400 liters per hectare are consumed at a solution concentration of 0.5 liters per hectare. The waiting period is a week.
Trees are also sprayed against the codling moth when the insects are laying eggs. Application rate of the drug: 1 liter per hectare, consumption – 600-1500 liters per hectare, treatments – 2, waiting period before picking apples – 1 month.
Safety precautions and first aid for poisoning
The insecticide "Match" belongs to drugs with class 3 toxicity for bees and humans. Work in protective clothing, wear gloves, goggles and a respirator to protect skin, eyes and respiratory organs from penetration of the pesticide.
If signs of poisoning occur - headache, nausea and vomiting - you need to stop working and remove protective equipment. Rinse areas where the solution has been splashed, and rinse open eyes with plenty of water. If insecticidal liquid gets inside, drink 1 liter of water with activated carbon powder (1 g per 1 kg of weight), and then induce vomiting. Treatment of intoxication caused by insecticide is symptomatic; there are no antidotes.
Compatibility with other substances
“Match” is well compatible with many common insecticides and fungicides, except those that have an alkaline reaction. The manufacturer recommends that you first check the compatibility of the products before mixing.
Shelf life and storage conditions
Insecticide "Match" can be stored in warehouses for pesticides and fertilizers at temperatures from -5 ° C to +35 ° C for 3 years, all the time the liquid must be in closed original packaging. The shelf life of the diluted solution is 1 day.
Substitutes
Lufox is produced with lufenuron, which can replace the drug Match. Insecticides can only be used in agriculture; they are not used on private farms. It is recommended to alternate the drug with other insecticides to prevent the development of resistance.
“Match” insecticide is used to treat vegetables, fruits, and pasture grasses against common types of pests. The drug is characterized by a low application rate and moderate solution consumption, and is well combined in tank mixtures.
