Soil preparation

Before planning to plant raspberries, you need to first prepare the area itself. So, to do this you need to do the following:

1. The area is dug up with a shovel to a depth of approximately 30 centimeters.
2. Weeds and unnecessary objects (stones, boards, plastic bottles, etc.) are removed from the site.
3. After the ground has been dug, it must be leveled with a rake.
4. Rhizomes and other plant debris are removed.

If raspberries are planted in the autumn, the soil is prepared a month and a half in advance. Per square meter, you need to take from 10 to 30 kilograms of manure, from 60 to 80 grams of superphosphate, as well as 50 grams of potassium sulfate. If the soil on the site is sandy or clayey, more manure needs to be applied. Peat soil needs additional sanding.

If raspberries are planted in the spring, before planting, the top layer of soil is mixed with fertilizers, and the resulting soil is poured where the crop will be planted.

Some time before planting the plant (about 2-3 weeks), holes measuring 50 by 40 centimeters are dug, and in the process the top layer of soil is deposited separately from the bottom.

Sometimes it happens that the preparatory work could not be carried out, but there is a way out. So, in the places where raspberries are planted, you need to pour a mixture consisting of compost, wood ash, granulated superphosphate and potassium sulfate.

However, no fewer people who like to grow their own berries prefer the bush method. With the bush method, the plants are planted at a distance of 1.5 meters from each other.

Sometimes owners have a small garden plot at their disposal, but they still want to have raspberries in the garden. In this case, planting bushes in containers will be useful. Plastic or metal ones are suitable for these purposes.

The size and diameter of such a container must be at least 50 centimeters. The bottom of the vessel is cut out and dug into the hole. The container is filled with soil, to which rotted manure is added. By the way, this method makes it impossible for the shoots to grow, and the area nearby is used for planting other crops.
