Simple recipe
You can prepare a simple and vitamin drink from the following ingredients:
- 3 kg of Chinese apples;
- 3 kg sugar.
Preparation:
- The fruits are thoroughly washed, sorted, and the flowers and stalks are removed.
- Jars intended for harvesting must be sterilized in any way.
- They are filled one third with apples, and then boiling water is poured in and left to cool.
- After this, the liquid is drained, granulated sugar is poured into it and syrup is boiled, which is again poured over the fruit.
- Place a cloth at the bottom of the pan and place a container with compote there, then pour water “up to the shoulders” and set it to sterilize. The finished drink is rolled up.
Option without sterilization
To prepare compote according to this simple recipe you will need:
- 500 g Chinese apples;
- 2.5 liters of clean water;
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar.
Preparation:
- Rinse the fruits thoroughly, remove the stems and cut off the flowers.
- Fill a three-liter jar one-third full with apples.
- Pour boiling water over there and leave to brew for 10 minutes.
- After this, drain the liquid into a saucepan, add sugar and cook the syrup.
- Pour it over the apples and quickly roll up the finished compote.
Further storage of workpieces
Compote made from Chinese apples can retain its quality for about two years. However, for long-term storage, the seeds must be removed from the fruit before cooking. If this is not done, the shelf life of the drink does not exceed 1 year. Store preservation in a cool, dry place, protected from sunlight.
