The benefits of jam are due to the vitamin and mineral composition contained in fruits and berries. Sugar in dessert only causes harm to the body in the form of extra calories. But thanks to this component, the product is stored for a long time and does not spoil, since the component acts, first of all, as a preservative, and then serves as a sweetener. Honey-based jam has many advantages compared to beet sugar, since the bee product not only preserves the healing properties of fresh fruits, but also enriches them with valuable enzymes.

Features of making jam with honey
In ancient times, sugar was not as common as it is now. Only in the second half of the 19th century did it become available to Russians thanks to the opening of factories for its production in the country. But most of the population could not afford to use such an expensive product for jam, and added honey as a sweetener when preparing dessert.
Specifics of product selection
With the help of natural honey, you can diversify the taste of ordinary jam by using different varieties of bee product. Years of experimentation will help you figure out which flavors are harmonious with each other.
But when choosing fruits, you should give preference to fresh fruits without mechanical damage.
Preparing containers for the start of the process
The jars in which the jam will be stored must be thoroughly washed with soda and mustard and sterilized. Steam procedures will help avoid the development of bacteria and fungi during storage.

The jar of jam should be in a dry, warm room, out of direct sunlight.
Exceeding the temperature regime by up to 20 degrees is unacceptable, as are sudden changes.
Properly prepared jam can be stored for about 3 years. If the recipe does not involve removing the seeds, then the delicacy should be stored for no more than 6 months due to the release of hydrocyanic acid, which has a negative effect on the human body.
