Thanks to the hard work of breeders from the French company Clause, the Dino f1 tomato was developed, which can be grown not only in Moldova and Ukraine, but also in Belarus, in the southern and central regions of Russia. The hybrid feels good in fields and vegetable gardens and bears fruit well in greenhouses.
Features of the variety
Determinate tomato bushes have a powerful root system, but grow only a meter in height. Large fruits are hidden under the thick leaves from the hot rays of the sun. The first tomato is usually picked 70 days after the seedlings are moved to the garden bed.According to farmers, one bush has from 14 to 22 clusters, each of which bears 4-5 tomatoes weighing 120-150 g, and has:
- rich red hue;
- smooth and dense skin;
- glossy shine;
- shape resembling a plum;
- up to 8 cm long.
At a temperature of 20 degrees, tomatoes do not lose their presentation, retain an excellent sweetish taste and light aroma for up to 15 days. The fruits are added to various salads, canned, and sealed in jars for the winter.
Advantages of the variety
If you look at reviews from summer residents about the Dino tomato, you can conclude that they consider the advantages of the hybrid to be:
- rapid ripening;
- high productivity;
- great taste.
Farmers who planted this new product for the first time claim that the hybrid successfully withstood the cool and humid weather of early summer and pleased with its sweet and large tomatoes. The advantages of the variety include the absence of the need to tie up bushes.
Tomato copes with diseases in the form of:
- fusarium;
- verticillium wilt;
- bacterial spotting.
Large fruits are formed both above and below the bush, they are tied together, almost all the tomatoes ripen on the plant. They do not lose their attractive appearance during long-term transportation due to their thick skin.
How should I plant?
Early ripening hybrids in the middle zone are sown for seedlings from March 15 to 20. The soil is prepared by mixing humus with river sand, peat and turf soil in a ratio of 2 to 1. The soil is disinfected in 3 ways in the form of:
- freezing;
- steaming;
- calcination.
Dino tomato seeds do not need to be germinated or treated with chemicals. 2 grains are placed in a peat pot to a depth of 1.5 cm, sprinkled with earth on top and sprinkled with water.When the first leaves appear, they begin to dive, thanks to which the roots become stronger.
The seedlings are sent into open ground along with the pot, cutting off its bottom. This is done when frost is no longer expected and the height of the tomato shoot is at least 20 cm.
Rules of care
The location of the tomato bed is selected in an area that is well ventilated and illuminated by the sun all day. Tomato bushes are planted at a distance of 40 cm. The soil on which they are located must be loosened after 2 or 3 weeks and the weeds must be weeded, otherwise insect pests will appear and the bushes will begin to thicken.
Hybrids should be watered at the root, making sure that water does not get on the leaves and inflorescences. Tomatoes are moistened once or every 7 days. To ensure that nutrients are used for the formation of fruits, the stepsons are regularly removed.
During the season, tomatoes are fed 4 times with mineral and organic fertilizers, and the bushes must be hilled. Tomatoes are harvested by hand.
